think it was implied as " do they count as the same close combat action?". as opposed to is this the one exception i can do more then one thing?
Okay, I'll be a little more obvious then: No, they can't be used together. Since both are close combat actions and there is nothing in the description of either Haymaker or EW to indicate that they grant any kind of free additional close combat action, this would cause two non-free actions in a turn. Which is a no-no. It is the same reason Flurry and EW don't work together (or Flurry and Haymaker, for that matter).
