Justice League Unlimited #16 - Rated 7 - Yea yea I picked this up cause it co-starred Supergirl. It had Power Girl to. I wonder hwo they explain that. Is she the clone of Supergirl that was in the tv series? Anyways, a villian named Girder escapes and Supergirl, Atom Smasher and others go to stop him. He beats them all but Atom Smasher who captures him. Turns out Girder just wanted to get hom for X-Mas to see his son. So Smasher brings his son to see his father in jail.. aahhh
Outsiders #31 - Rated 8 - The more powerful members are taken into space to fight the... whatever. Cap Marvel Jr freaks out about the loss of magic and returns home. Then suddenly Starfires feels that her Goddess X'Hal is back! She goes to meet her but they get attacked and it turns out that her sister Blackfire has somehow recieved the Goddess powers! Uh oh!!!
JSA #80 - Rated 9 - Through sheer willpower Thunderbolt disobeys Jakeem (ah comic books...) and ends up beating him. We find out that another Djinn was controlling Jakeem. This Djinn is captured by Thunderbolts original master who voes revenge then vanishes. Meanwhile Nabu is losing to Mordru but Jakeem shws up and he and T-Bolt beat him and send him away. Meanwhile, it seems that HEctor and Lyta Hall are either dead or in Dream (of the Endless)'s realm! Coooool. I loved Giamans Endless stuff.
Superman - Rated Filler - It's a Smallville TV show ad !!! The issue flops back and forth between Smallville memories of Lex and Clark and the current trials Lex and Supes are going through. Clark was Lex's only friend in SV and befriended him when everybody else hated him. Anyway, Supes fights Blackrock and dispatches her by bringing her into a lead room ??? Lex's jet crashes over Alaska as he is persued by OMACs, it's power armor less Lex versus an OMAC and he wins ??? He eventually makes it to the plane wreckage on foot faster then an OMAC can fly there ??? Gets his armor and blasts them all.
So ... OMACs can't dispatch an unarmed man but can kill meta's left and right ? The concept has gone from cool to retarded, it's like that football team that plays "down" to their competition.
Luthor is no normal man. He's the smartest man in the DCU. First, he didn't beat the first OMAC as much as he tricked it. By attacking the ice above it, Lex didn't register his moves and thus the OMAC couldn't counter. Then he blew the human's head off. Secondly, he didn't race the remaining OMACs, he snuck behind them and into the plane. They never saw him coming. Although I will say that the Brother Eye should have updated them that Lex was still alive. I will agree that the OMACs have become something of a joke now, but against Luthor, what did you expect?
Jonah Hex #2 - Rated 8 - A town is attacked for the gold they have hidden in the church. One of the robbers is the town priest's adopted son. With his dying words the priest asks Jonah to deliver his own brand of justice. Jonah accepts, and takes the priests hot daughter to investigate. They find the robbers have been captured by a renegade town of Silver Miners (Silverton). Jonah has to face the entire town (who are convinced he's after their silver). Jonah kicks butt in his own, mangley-faced sorta way. Great cowboy comic, plenty violent.
Outsiders- I picked this up for the first time, and I'm now dropping it immediately. This of course means that I'm going to miss out on some important stuff, but oh well. I can't stand the drawing in that book. I don't pay attention to artists as well as I should, and I think I might start. The scene with Roy Harper on the boat was some of the worst drawing I've seen in a while, and I just couldn't stand it.

It looks like Hector and Lyta are dead. Seems a pity to waste the long running plot of Hector searching for Lyta just to kill them. Maybe it's for the best, as far as "cleaning up the DCU" is concerned.

Champagne does an excellent job of filling in for Johns. The writing style, for JSA appears seamless. He did a great job with this arc.I loved when Jakeem uses the pen to take out Mordru. I HOPE Hector isn't dead, aand returns as Dr. Fate. I see him returning to his Sandman roots, but not being dead. Plus it would seem like a waste to have Lyta back, out of sight, only to off her again. Now it's Leavitt's turn.

Yeah, this issue was very meh. Since they are ending this series, I hope that the remaining issues aren't similar. Vanderhein (sp?) had been doing a moderate job on this title, and this issue just kind of puked over his run a little. Not a good way to get me to follow him on Superman/Batman, if he ends this title in that fashion. I loved the cover, though.

Anyone read Superman Secret Files and Origins 2005? The "Superman is Weak" story was cute and rest rather sub-par. This issue was in no way worth $4.99.
It's pretty good--nothing major has happened yet, but the mood/tone is very cool if you're a fan of the late 70's/early 80's Batman era.
Batman is a detective, he's dark and driven, but Bruce Wayne leads a semi-functional life.
It's only 2 issues in, but I'd suggest you check it out if you're a Bat-fan.
Did you read Dark Detective? It was also a classic 70's Batman story, told by the 70's writer ( I can't remeber his name right now). I haven't finished it yet, but the first 3 issues took me back to when I was 5-7, which would be right about when this issue would have been written, if it was published back then. Pretty good stuff! I need to finish it though!

Yeah, I flipped through it, but oddly enough I couldn't enjoy it. The dialogue seemed a little too retro...
