“I can’t believe this kind of stuff still happens,” Wildfire said as the Legion flew through the sky en-route to stem off a riot somewhere on Earth. “I mean, seriously - it’s the fracking United Planets. We’ve seen all manner of aliens and stuff, but they still harbor bigotry against their own kind?”
“Never underestimate the ability of small-minded people to cause large-scale harm,” Cosmic Boy sighed.
“You ask me,” Live Wire said, “These simpletons deserve the beating they’re about to get.”
“We can’t go there, LW,” Cos said sternly. “If you attack a racist for being racist, you confirm his hatred.”
“Then what the sprock are we doing, here?” Wildfire asked. “Playing spectator? I didn’t bring any Mars-mallows for sum’mors, if that’s what you had in mind.”
“Our intent is practical,” Brainiac 5 interjected. “We put ourselves between the rioters and the teens. You, Live Wire and Shadow Lass play offense, stemming off the fighters while I and Cosmic Boy rescue the endangered underagers.”
“What was all this about, anyway?” Shadow Lass asked. “I’d heard the kids were freakshows.”
“I don’t know,” Cos said, shaking his head. “The reports said they were mutants, but I thought we’d stemmed off unplanned mutation two centuries ago, right Brainy?”
“That isn’t all that’s odd, here,” the Coluan said. “There have been reports of strange atmospheric storms throughout the UP, and I’ve gathered readings on at least a dozen impossible space phenomina. Things are happening that shouldn’t be achievable.”
“We’ll worry about that later,” Cos said as they approached the mob from the air. “We’ve got a job to do.”
The mob was unruly in the extreme, but the Legion was able to hold them back. Shadow Lass enveloped the front lines in her shadow-force, trapping them in a cold, dark maze while Live Wire cut off the back rows with a lightning-show and Wildfire drove off any who split from the pack. Brainiac 5 had his force-field extended to cover the young teens, and Cosmic Boy was trying to calm them.
“Help us, please!” the eldest boy asked. He looked normal by most standards, but wore clunky red glasses. “They want to kill us!”
“We’ve got you,” Cos assured them. “The Legion is here.”
“The…who?” a boy asked. He was built more like a large ape than a teen, and his body was covered in dark grey fur. His words slurred slightly out of his fanged mouth. He certainly looked frightening, if it weren’t for the terror that was clear in his eyes.
“The Legion,” Cos said, confused. He had thought everybody under 18 had heard of them, by now. “Just relax and hang tight while Brainiac and I get you out.”
Just as he was giving the order to fall back, an explosion rocked the crowd. The earth itself shook like an avalanche, and a flaming geyser erupted in the midst of the adults before taking the shape of a dragon’s head and attacking.
“Flee now, fools,” a young man said. He leapt from above and landed deftly in a tight rolling stop. His skin was dark midnight-blue and he carried a pair of strange pistols. “No mutants are harmed so long as the Brotherhood lives!”
As he spoke, a massive man ambled out, hefting his weight like a weapon to herd in the mob. From the other side, a girl ran out and raised her hands, shooting fire out and forming a wall of flame to hold the people in place.
“What the frack are you doing?” Cos shouted. “We’ve got this in hand - you’ll kill those people!”
“Maybe they deserve death,” said a willowy young man in a long cloak with a gold mask over his face. He was unsettling to see, with that eyeless mask of perfect calm. “Maybe all who hunt down mutants deserve the same.”
“You were nice and all to help out,” the leader said, spinning his pistols before holding them steady on Cosmic Boy. “And you guys look like mutants, too, so we’re on your side. But if you stop us from doing the good work, we’ll have to consider you part of the problem.”
“We’re not mutants,” Brainiac 5 said impatiently. “There haven’t been mutants in well over a hundred years. I don’t know who you think you are--“
“We’re the Brotherhood,” the leader said. “Carrying on the tradition of the first group to stand up against Mutant oppression and demand Homo Superior take their proper place at the top of the food chain. Now stand down, or be cut down. Your choice.”
“No choice at all,” Cosmic Boy said, leaping to action.
so are these mutants from 2099? Or did Shear just make them up? Hmm in any case, you're more than welcome to villain mike. I actually wasn't expecting someone to pick it up right away.
The Legionnaires were surprised at how quickly their opponents moved into position. Were they not only facing a bunch of underagers who made the improbable claim to be mutants but also a well-oiled team? One thing became quickly clear as one of the strange youngsters put up a wall of fire to cover their advance: this was going to be a tough fight.

"Be on your guard people", said Cosmic Boy. "They look neither harmless or friendly. It seems they're no rookies either. They move together and fast as a team. It's strange they don't know who we are either."
"They could be part of the strange disturbances that I have been receiving on my sensors. I will have to investigate this more," stated Brainy.
"I say we investigate later and start kicking some sprockin tail!" shouted Wildfire.
"You said it Wildfire!" shouted Garth.
"Are they always like this?" Shadow Lass asked Cosmic Boy.
"I'm afraid so. Makes my job ten times as hard." said Cosmic Boy. "Let's move people!"
Turn 1B
1. Cosmic boy will TK Wildfire to I13.
2. Wildfire will RS to F8 and will target Rogue. They only have line of sight to each other so no PC. AV 9 vs DV 14. Roll is 2, 4. Hit and Rogue takes 4 clicks.

'Twould seem, friend Tanis, as if your question in the main thread anticipates the following problem:
I re-checked my RECAP and the positioning of all of my figs to make sure i hadn't erred in that respect. From F8, there are only a few squares on the ground, to which Wildfire has a clear LoFire, namely the perfect diagonal. If you want Wildfire in F8, then he could only attack Foresight/Destiny (in which case you could please re-roll for PC? If you want to target Vampiress/Rogue, then G8, H8 or I8 would be possible ending points for Wildfire's Running Shot, but all of these would also mean a PC re-roll (even though i didn't expressly instruct that in my turn... )
weird...I TOTALLY placed the figs wrong...how did I do that? Man..sorry about that, mike...it's my old age..it affects my eyes.....oh I know what I did...I switched Destiny and Rogue....oh well I already made the move might as well go with it...so I'll move Wildfire to G8.

The Legionnaires could not see very well what happened next, only that the wall of fire waned and disappeared. Shifter's mouth was open in awe at how quickly the Legionnaires had struck, but he regained his composure quickly. With a gesture, he directed Firestarter's next action. Even though the youth was tired, he switched his fire energies from the wall he had created to Wildfire. The flames struck Wildfire solidly and hurt the young hero, but Firestarter would also need a little time to recover.

Barrier comes down.
Shifter/Mystique uses Perplex to increase Firestarter's Attack +1.
Firestarter/Pyro pushes and attacks Wildfire using RCExpert > AV8 + 1 (Perplex) vs DV16 > roll: 3+6=9 HIT. Wildfire takes 2 after Toughness ((i.e. 1 + 2 (RCE) - 1 (Toughness) =2)). Firestarter/Pyro takes 1 pushing damage.
Foresight/Destiny will use PC on a successful attack she can see.

This time, it was not a wall of fire, but a wall of rock and concrete that arose, apparently out of nothing, to block the Legionnaires' view. They could hear the muffled voices of their opponents, but could only guess as to their intentions.
Quake/Avalanche creates a Barrier at K12-L12-M12-N11.
Fat Fatty/Blob moves to K10.
Vampiress/Rogue moves to J10.
Foresight/Destiny moves to J8.

I have a question. Don't you need clear LOS to at least one of the barrier tokens? It looks like destiny blocks all of your LOS. Just let me know what'd you like to do.
Quake/Avalanche (in I7) put up the Barrier before Destiny moved (from I5 to J7). Quake/Avalanche should have LoFire at least to N11, at least that's how my map upstairs is set up...
