As the Coasters picked themselves up, they instantly noticed that they were in a completely different location, and that Tigra and Wonder Man were with them.

“I hate magic,” said Iron Man.

“We can help,” said Tigra, getting unsteadily to her feet. Wonder Man nodded in agreement.

“Yes, you can help,” said Iron Man, “you can help by staying here so we don’t have to worry about injured comrades while we fight.”

Ant-Man went scouting ahead with his tiny friends, but it took a great deal of effort to communicate with them; it seemed almost as though the ants in this bizarre place spoke another dialect.

The lights and sounds intensified until Hank could see what appeared to be a ritualistic gathering. Several people were gathered around a large fire. Some of them were holding torches, and almost all of them bore weapons, but they looked to be primitive: mostly clubs and spears. Dressed in leather and furs, they responded with anger to the provocations of the ritual leader, just as he obviously wanted.

He was calling for the destruction of ‘the outside world,’ returning to humanity’s ‘natural roots,’ and rejection of the temptations of technology. Science was an empty justification for the inevitability and desirability of progress. Within the span of a few minutes, he had made the transition to the ransacking of nearby computer stores, destruction of electronics facilities, and eradication of movie studios. The people surrounding him had been swept up in the self-righteous, religious fervor.

Hawkeye had heard enough. “Shellhead, we can’t let them do that. Let’s deal with these bozos before they attack Scarlett Johansson,” the archer said quietly.

”AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!” yelled Iron Man, boot-jets igniting as they charged.

Spoiler cleared her head as she realized that she and the rest of the team had been bound in metal coils by the robots. As her vision became clear, she could hear Ultron droning on nearby and the clinking and whirring of servos and gears as the robots moved about.

I wake. I’m not the first aware of my surroundings, but it looks as if I wasn’t the last, either; Batman is still out. I see everyone struggling against their bonds - with no help. Our utility belts have been taken. More of us are here than I remember coming with us – an Asian looking girl in red and yellow and…is that Nightwing?

As I take a breath in, I try to take in my environment, just like he taught me. Then we’re joined by a robot, and a mean looking one at that. Blood red eyes, fanged mouth; very creepy. Batman taught me to look like you’re paying attention while your mind works out your plan. The robot tells us that we will all perish.

Blah blah blah. He wants to kill all humans - very ambitious, but that doesn't matter. I think I can wriggle my wrist loose. As I do, I’m already thinking of my next move.

The robot approaches batman. He’s still out, but yet... Boy is he good. He leaps free using the back wall for momentum. Even the robot didn't expect that. Wasn’t expecting him to reach the controls to our bonds in almost a single bound, either.

Someday I’ll be that good.

Not to butt in or anything...

But which version of Nightwing are you using for 22 points? Are you refering to the Icons Starter Robin for 22 points? If so, I believe he counts as an "Experienced" version as he has a blue ring about him.

Thanks, TMNT, i had overlooked that. It would make sense if it were D*ck Grayson as the Starter Robin (Experienced at 22 points). Is this correct?

"Yes," replied Iron Man, his even-toned voice rendered even colder by the circuitry of his helmet. "That's why we have to stop them in here, before they break out. They look like a stealthy bunch, though; we'll have to be careful." Ant-Man was already busy summoning his insect friends as well as he could.

WCAvengers turn 1b

Hawkeye watched with appreciation as Iron Man's boot jets carried the Golden Avenger into the fray. "Man," thought the archer, "this new bow is great, but I bet some of Tony Stark's technology could do me some good, too." Hawkeye advanced to a position behind Iron Man. The eagle-eyed bowman could just make out three forms hiding under some cover across the expansive room. He knew, too, that there were several more people in this mob and that the Avengers were outnumbered -- again.
