Also, since the damage is "Damage dealt" it can be masterminded to another character, though all Earthquake damage would be dealt to the fodder at the same time.
And from what I can tell, if the Earthquake goes off on your turn, you can use Probability Control to re-roll your own Impervious rolls and vice versa if it goes off on your opponent's turn (reroll *their* impervious).

First Turn Immunity prevents your characters from taking damage on turn 1 except from your own characters as long as they are still in their starting position.
Sooo...can Earthquake still be rolled for on each player's turn 1, and if it goes off, figures in their starting square ignore it?
No. PC specifies that you must draw LOF to a character. No character rolls the Earthquake, you do at the beginning of the turn. You can not influence that roll at all (well, short of dropping it on the floor ).

Actually, first turn immunity doesn't prevent you from taking damage, it prevents you from being attacked.
If Poison, for example, was ever reworded to kick in at the end of the turn as opposed to the beginning, you could theoretically Poison characters protected by first turn immunity.
In other words, Earthquake works just fine on the first turn. Sadly it has happened to me numerous times...
Hmmm...I left all my FAQ #### at home, but I coulda swore the wording was changed...
Actually, you are right. The current wording of the complete tournament rules would indicate that characters can no longer be damaged at all (except by friendlies) during first turn immunity.
I wonder if this was done with EQ in mind or not, because what happens if it does go off the first turn? Does the card just get discard with absolutely no effect? Or is the roll ignored until the card could theoretically do some damage?
Hmm... I think I may have to wander over to the Judges forum.
I'm thinking Proximity Mines and Earthquake, but moreso the Proximity Mines.
It may be a while till I can get onto WK, so please let us know what gets kicked around over there. (I know, you were probably going to anyway).
The way I figure it is there is nothing on the EQ or PM BFCs that specifically tells us NOT to roll for them to go off and deal damage, but there is (for now) a specific rule to prevent the characters from taking damage.
I hate EQ so bad I would welcome a chance for it to fizzle even if it is only about 8-12% of it happening (depending on it going off on first or second player turn).

Barring an official ruling from the RA saying otherwise, it does indeed appear to be that Earthquake (and Proximity Mines) would not work on characters on the first turn. I guess if the dice come up as 2-3 (or die as 5-6), then the card takes effect... and nothing happens. Oh well.

So just to clarify with Proximity Mines- if an opponent placed objects directly in front of your starting area adjacent to your figures, you would still make the roll for them on the first turn, but if they go off, they will be destroyed but you will take no damage?
