I just found out there'll be a Justice League game coming out for the PS2, X-Box, and PSP later this year. There's a trialer already you can find right here.
Can't tell much from the teaser, but the press release lists it as what sounds like an X-Men Legends type game starring the expected characters...and Zatana. While the quality of this game will stem from how good the Teen Titans games is (same publisher and I think similar or the same developers), so we'll have to see what that's like in a month. I do have hope though, if only because it'll be cool to finally see a decent Justice League game after all this time. I think the last console one I played was Task Force for the SNES and it was certainly a sub-par fighting game.
I was a lot like the first X-men Legends. You can't switch out powers like you can in the 2nd. Instead of health and energy potions, you regenerate slowly, and if you're idle for a little longer you recover even faster. The "money" system is collecting JLA shields to purchase unlockable characters(Hawkgirl, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Huntress, Kyle Rayner, Hal Jordan) and extra costumes. Over all, a good start for some more DC games. Probably not going to be as good as Ultimate Alliance.
I just got done beating the entire game with my wife. Justice League Heroes is the PERFECT game for two people to play together. You can only have two characters in your party at the same time so two player action is even easier than it was with the legends games.
I liked the system of 'boosts' much better than trying to manage equipment in the x-men legends game too, it's more straightforward and feels more comic-like than trying to gain a bunch of gear for your characters.
It could have been longer, we beat the game on easy in one evening.
It could have had more play time for the unlockables, as it is you only get to use them in about half of the game.
Other than those two... no major complaints.
The alternate costumes and power sets for the characters made me #### my pants with joy. Unlocking Earth-2 superman and turning him into an ungodly beatstick was tons of fun, and seeing wonder woman don her KC armor to kick some tail at the end was a straight-up geekgasm.
I cannot figure out how to beat STAR Labs. I think I've destroyed the forcefield generators (even the laser spinners) but it won't let me in the elevator. I'm stumped. Everything's destroyed as far as I know.
Help, please? If it makes a difference, my brother input cheat codes. Does that cause a glitch like in GTA?
I think saying it beats XML2 is a bit of a stretch but it certainly is a fine game. I enjoyed the heck out of it. I wish there was more replayability. The cut-scenes were cool and the unlockable characters were awesome and I like how it incorporated the randomness of the whole RPG character element to the Justice League. It made Zatanna a total superstar, it made Batman into a chump, and Wonder Womans Tiara became americas greatest weapon against terror.
10-2-08 I just put a bunch of stuff on eBay including a numbered Super Skrull Illuminati and a CoG Galactus. Check it out.
I enjoyed the game as well, even when I played it with my lil 5yrold cousin
Together we got to like where you can actually choose what 2 heroes you wanna be. After he left,I went on and finished it by myself.. Im telling ya,theyre makin kids smarter these days
