Marvel decided they wanted to reach more Black readers. So to target them they decided to marry thier 2 most populsr black characters, despite them having barely anything to do with each other. Plus this is also being done to help the Black Panther book get better sells.
Thus Marvel is retconning a whole history between the 2 so that they can marry them off in a month or 2.
Most marvel fans are not happy about this. Especially cause it's taking one of the "strongest" and most "independant" women in comics and making her into a get rich quick scheme.
Actually it's not a ret-con, it just wasn't delved into as much as is being done now. There was mention of the previous relationship that Storm had with Black Panther, in X-Men annual #5. In that issue, she has a connection with Arkon the Imperion, but because of thir different lifestyles,Stom and Arkon conclude that they cannot persue a relationship. At the end there's a blurb of how this reminded her of her relationship with T'Challa, and how his responsibility to his people is what cause them to seperate.

They are writing the history RIGHT NOW. So what if they batted eyes at each other in 2 issues from 15 years ago. The point is they have had no REAL history aside from what Marvel decides to create on the fly.
Forge and Storm have history. I can go READ many many issues about them.
Wolvie and Storm have history. I can go READ many many issues about them, as well.
Storm and Kurt. I can go READ many many issues about them!!!
BP and Storm have a Marvel Team Up issue that mentions they knew each other as kids.
This is like Marvel wanting to reach more Jewish readers so they write a mini series about how Magneto and Kitty have been sending love letters to each other for the past 30 years.

You are right to some degree. But the seed was planted long before. So it's not the same as your example with Kitty and Magneto. As I stated, it wasn't delved into back then, but it was mentioned.

Sorta like a third Summers brother. Although I haven't read anything about the Storm/Black Panther marriage so I don't really know about what the biggest would be, and that's whether or not the story is any good. I'm up for any retcon that doesn't suck myself.
The back up is a story of teenaged Storm and T'challa in Africa. I don't remember the details offhand or when it came out, but the issue did feature the first appearence of Karma, so this was before the New Mutants.
You mean you can suck yourself, but don't? You could make a name for yourself in the adult film industry tho, amke big bucks, buy more comics... I mean, really, you could be a big star. :D

Umm, that's disturbing, cause Kitty is not even 18 years old. Mags is a dirty old man. The swine.
Says the man telling me I should go into to prono to suck myself off. You're probably trying to disaude anyone from the Kitty/Magneto relationship so you can go write that story yourself in sometime in the future.

If I were a certain writer... Instead of Kitty, I'd be writting it to expose more of Mag's "relationship" with Prof X.

And hey, if you can suck yourself off, that must mean you're so well endowed, your nickname could be "Titano". :D

Actually the third summers brother was first mentioned back in X-Men (not Uncanny) 23 (I think about there) when Sinister hinted at it to Cyclops. Since then there had been subtle hints and suggestions every so often.
At one time it was implied towards it being Adam X, and he was half Shi'Ar and would be froma relationship that Corsair had after his wife died.
For a while it wsa hinted to be Gambit, as he was adopted and it would explain why Sinister was so very interested in him, since the mojority of his attention usually goes towards the Summers family.
Now they've officially revealed it to be Vulcan. But there is one big problem to how they've done it. Part of all of Marvel's mutant history has been that siblings powers do not effect each other. Cyclops and Havok cannot blast each other. Neither can Banshee and Black Tom. When Emma Frost's sister was around in Generation X they couldn't effect each other with their powers. I do believe that Husk can breach Cannonball's blasting field (I might be wrong on that one) So why is it that Vulcan can use his powers on Cyclops?

You are right and wrong.
Yes, it is a retcon, but that one team-up is NOT the only history between BP and Storm.
You need to read Christopher Preist's Black Panther series. THAT was a beautiful exploration of the Storm/T'Challa relationship - the obvious desire between them, but separated by their devotion to their duties. I loved that, and I'm a big fan of the BP-Ororo pairing.
HOWEVER, this current #### is absolute garbage. Not only retconning and pointlessly altering their first meeting (in this Storm miniseries), but the current Black Panther series sucks ### because it's retconning all sorts of stuff for absolutely no good reason, and T'Challa is a snotty piece of arse for NO GOOD REASON.
Man, if they'd have let Priest come back and given him the ability to write the Storm/BP hookup (which would help the BP sales and stave off the cancellation he finally had to succumb to), it would be AWESOME and not feel like a shoehorned sales gimmick.
ARGH! IT COULD HAVE BEEN INCREDIBLE BUT NOW IT SUCKS.
