One thing I found in a $1.00 bin was a Shadowhawk Trade. I didn't pick it up (like an idiot), but I will probably pick it up tomorrow. I liked him when he first came out, so I'm looking forward to seeing where he's come in 19 years.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
I was actually reading Route 666 while it was being published. A friend was always talking up Mystic though. I'll check that out.
On another recomendation I picked up Negation after Crossgen folded, but only through about issue 12. So thanks for the reminder, I'll look for the rest of that series too.
Should have pretty good luck finding anything crossgen in the quarter bins.
I'd have to second the Crossgen recommendation. I never picked up anything from them when they were coming out with comics before they folded, but have picked up a number of good stuff from them in the dollar or less bins. Most of Scion was great and I'm currently seeking for some other titles. I know I'll definitely be looking for some Crossgen down at Comic Con this year.
I have found some of Sojourn in the $1 bin, but maybe 10 issues at most. That is one series that I have had to pay a little more for to try to obtain, and I still cannot find certain issues.
I was wondering why Crossgen folded myself, considering I was finding a number of good reads from them. I found this article on the internet that I found interesting:
I'm gonna look for some of Bendis' run on Daredevil.
I wasn't keen enough on Maleev's art to pick it up at newstand price, but having found issues 47 - 50 in the 50-cent bin, I'm interested to bridge the gap to issue 80 (where I recently started reading again.)
"The Thing" written by Dan Slott apparently hasn't been selling well (I think the upcoming issue #8 is the last one), so back issues might be in the discount bins. This is a funny, entertaining, comic book with an old-school sensibility that just didn't generate the commercial success it deserved. Give it a try if you find a copy of any issue.
I usually hit the half off trade paperbacks. This year I got Invincible 1-4, Fables 1, Ultra, Batman: The Long Halloween, Marvel Boy (the Grant Morrison Story about the Kree warrior stuck on Earth) and a ton more (I think I spent more on Trade Paperback than I did on anything else in WWE (including admission). I would recommend everything I listed above.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

His She-Hulk would have slipped under the radar if Wizard hadn't named it book of the month. I still giggle when I think of Spider-Man in the courtroom. "J. Johan Jameson hates me because I'm black."

Slott's a great writer, with a great sense of humor and a real appreciation for the history of the Marvel Universe. He had a great bit in the Spider-Man/Human Torch miniseries he wrote where Spidey uses Hostess Twinkies to catch the bad guys in a way that was both funny and actually made story sense.
In fact, the Spidey/Torch mini-series is another thing to keep an eye out for in the discount bins.
Thanks for the suggestions Bud and Kalel.
I'm reading She-hulk already, but will look for some of the other stuff. I remember reading about the Spidey/Human Torch series (and they use the Spidermobile!), so thanks for the reminder.
