I'm guessing that post Civil War Captain America will have/found his own team (the Invaders maybe?) while Ironman continues on with a slightly altered Avengers line up.

Assuming this is the way they go, who will be on Cap's team? At this point I would say Falcon for sure, and maybe Cloak and Dagger?

He will need some power on his team too. I hope Hercules or Luke Cage will join him. I like the idea of Cloak and Dagger they have been favorites of mine for years.

I'm guessing they'll be called either "Old Avengers" or "Newer Avengers".

I think Cage has already thrown in with Ironman and will stay with the Avengers. As for Caps heavy hitter, if I had to bet I would go with Thor.

I don't think Cap's team (if they go that way) will be called the Avengers at all, Ironman will have the Avengers. It will be called something new, or going with an old team, like the Invaders.

I could also see Spider-Man joining. First, I've seen rumors that MJ and/or May will be killed during civil war, also that MJ could divorce Parker (though at this point that doesn't make much sense) during CW. If Parkers ties to his family are cut like that, and he switchs sides (which hes rumored to do) during CW, going "underground" with Cap could be where they take Spider-Man.

I would like to see a relaunch of the Invaders title that got cut short.

Let Cap get back with people he's known his entire costumed career, people he can trust, and people who still think similar to how he does.

Failing that, Falcon, Thor, Spiderman, and others would make a great team. Even if they went with the Invaders moniker, and recruited some old school friends (Spitfire, Union Jack, Blazing Skull, Namor....). Which could actually be a really great book, sort of Marvel's version of the JSA (the old time guard with the newer guns).

I like the idea of the REAL Cap leading a team called the Invaders. I've seen some interesting choices mentioned on this thread for members.
I'd go with Cloak and Dagger. Cloak would be like the "Vision" of the team and Dagger like the Scarlet Witch of the team. Thor would be in keeping with things, Cap's ability to pick up Thor's hammer makes it seem they're more alike then Thor would be with Iron Man.

I'm not sure about Cage, I read one plae he's on IM's side, another thing I read was it's Cap's side. Something about what Wolvie said to Cage about how Sentinels on Xavier's lawn was for a mutant what a burning cross would be on Cage's front lawn.

Cap and Thor have a long histroy of friendship, far closer then his friendship with Iron Man.

Asgardians have bestowed on Cap honorary 'Asgardianship'. If you've read Secret Wars, even that far back Thor was willing to fight with anyone who looked at Cap the wrong way (when they are trying to pick a leader some of the Xmen seem ready to mutiny when Cap is selected, and Thor steps in and basically tells them he'll kick all their arses if they start anything with Cap).

While Tony and Cap share a love of country, Thor and Cap share a similar in born nobility and purpose of spirit. I think they are both willing to humble themselves if need be, where Tony is not. Personality wise I find them more similar as well. Men that are sort of 'out of time', with morals and ideas that don't always fit with modern society. Plus, both are semi worshiped by those arround them. Thor was worshiped as a god, and Cap is 'worshiped' in other forms by society as a whole. I think they can relate over that (I know Cap has talked to Thor about it at least once).

I'd personally love to see Thor show back up at the end of Civil War. Have Sentry right there, about to do them all in, and a hammer smashing him in the face, with a massive double splash page of it returning to Thor's hand "Unhand the Captain varlet, for I say thee NAY!"

I'm thinking, Sentry may be on IM's team, just so if Thor comes back, he'll be on Cap's and they'll even it out in that respect... not to mention how many people have been arguing over who'd win in a fight between the two, Marvel will want to capitalize on that match-up, I'd think.

I gotta agree with JTR, I could see Sentry on Tony's side, and Thor on Cap's so you end up with two great field leaders and two extreme power houses. Throw Herc on Cap's side, She-Hulk on I.M's,hold on let's try something here...

Hey, did anyone read FF this week? They had a line where people tried to pick up the hammer in Oklahoma, and you see a guy walking, and there all like"no cutting" and said "I'm an exception" and he owned there #####! It's Thor, he's back, and Cap is going to have a new member soon! Also, we'll find who's side Cage is on in the next New Avengers!

I thought Cage was with Cap. Wasn't that him sitting at a computer console in Civil War 2?

Really? Sweet. I picked up the one where the hammer lands in OK and Donald Blake gets on the bus at the end.

Yeah, that was a good issue too. Blake owns everyone in line. Classic.
