Since no one else seems to be doing it, I'll get the ball rolling.
Detective Comics #821 - Rating: 8
Criminals are disguising themselves as members of high society in order to rob the big shots in Gotham. Batman spends the night solving the mystery of who's leading this crime spree. He tracks down the ringleader of the criminals who's a new villain named Facade (pretty much a guy in a suit with a reflective black mask and some guns, nothing too special). Batman stops Facade with some help from Robin and the mystery is solved.
A very nice 1 issue story, something that's a rarity in comics these days. It only gets an eight because, even though it was very entertaining, I think Dini will be able to do better down the road. Dini's a brilliant Batman writer, which should be obvious to most already. I really enjoyed Batman's internal monologues in this book too. Usually comic book characters internal monologues seem forced, cliche, and over the top, but Dini manages to add a lot of color to them, making them stand out from the usual cookie cutter internal monologues. I look forward to being able to pick the new issue of Detective Comics every month and be able to read a complete story without having to wait another 5 months to find out the ending.
52 Week 9 - Rating: 5
Steel confronts Luthor about what Luthor did to Natasha (Steel's niece). Natasha is with Luthor completely after he gave her some great super powers. Natasha proceeds to beat up Steel, ignoring his pleas for her to come home. A bunch of other Luthor created super people are shown briefly but not introduced.
Starfire, Animal Man, and Adam Strange are trapped in the cave of Devilance the Pursuer, a giant bounty hunter. A bounty has been put on the trio's heads for seeing something they weren't supposed to see. The trio escape and take Devilance's spear to use as a power source to escape, but Devilance isn't beaten yet and appears to follow them.
Later that night, The Question meets Renee in a bar and talks to her. He skirts questions for a while until saying that the weapons filled warehouse they stumbled onto was the groundwork for an Intergang invasion of Gotham. Meanwhile, the new Batgirl watches them from a rooftop. Also, Donna Troy learns about Identity Crisis.
I liked 52 a lot at first, but now it's plodding along at a very slow pace. I don't know if I'll keep reading it much longer. Probably only skim it to see the big stuff that's revealed.
JSA #87 - Rating: 6
Anti-climatic to say the least. The Gentleman Ghost gets beat by Wildcat and flees. Turns out Wildcat is the descendant of royalty and that means he can hurt the Ghost. A swarm of ghosts attack the JSA headquarters and Stargirl goes to get Green Lantern to help man the fort. Stargirl can't be touched by the ghosts because she's a pure innocent virgin (just in case there was some kind of doubt). Meanwhile in Windsor, the JSA attack the Gentleman Ghost and his army of ghosts one last time. A lot of ghosts are punched and Wildcat hits the Gentleman Ghost in the face with a mace. Afterward, Stargirl is sad that the headquarters got destroyed by the ghosts (like, completely ruined) and Power Girl comforts her by awkwardly changing the subject to boys, and then even more awkwardly to mystery comment about reporters "getting this look on their faces". Jay Garrick's wife threatens to kill the entire JSA if they quit being super heros and Jay proceeds to smack his woman for talking to him like that in front of the guys. Ma Hunkle then starts sweeping the wreckage that used to be the headquarters, which makes you wonder why you need a maid when you have a speedster and a genie on a super team.
Anyways, a good book but a lame finish. This story could've easily been much shorter. It started out great, but got dragged on way too long. A team can only be attacked by ghosts so many times before it loses all meaning. While this is the end of the current JSA run, JSA will be rebooted with a new issue 1 sometime in the future, with Geoff Johns writing again.
Secret Six #2 - Rating: 6
A bit of a yawn. The team members escape almost getting killed by a bunch of assassins that were after them. Except Knockout, who gets burned beyond recognition (but I think she's still alive). And Ragdoll gets hurt and put into the hospital, even though he seemed fine when he was fighting. Scandal is pissed and, with Catman's help, tracks down the assassin and tortures her into telling her that the person who called the hit on the Six is none other than Chesire. Catman, Deadshot, and Scandal confront Chesire at a Buddhist temple at the top of a mountain run by monks with swords. They fight the monks until Chesire shows herself and tells them that she doesn't know who's behind this whole assassination attempt on the Six. I'm confused at how far this thing goes back, since it seems like Dr. Psycho is the one behind it all, and Chesire does say he put the assault plan together. Chesire shows Catman his son and they decide not to kill Chesire for the sake of Catman's son. Meanwhile, Dr. Psycho is paying Ragdoll a little visit at the hospital. Uh oh!
I really hope this story picks up. I loved Villains United, but this book is nowhere near that quality so far. I'm hoping for a lot more action, a lot more villains popping up, and a lot better "mystery and intrigue" than what's been shown so far. I don't know how long I'll give it a chance to show these things though. Plus, the art can be really bad at times.
Y the Last Man #47 - Rating: 9
An interesting and insightful look at Dr. Mann's past, including her relationship with her parents, her first love, and the making of her clone baby. It turns out the baby was a miscarriage and it's still having effects on her to this day, and one of those effects is apparently bleeding a lot. Another nice character study story by Vaughn. If you aren't reading this book yet, you really should start reading the TPB's and then start reading it. It's only 13 issues away from the conclusion, so now's a great time to start.
My only hope is that the Big Lebowski kills me before the Germans can cut my d### off.
Steel vs. Steel Jr.! Eh. A pretty cliche fight. I kept expecting one of them to have some difficulty in beating each other up, since they're family. And yet, a thought balloon like, "I can't punch her, she's family!" would've added to the cliche, but it would've made it into a better-written cliche. Bleah.
Three Space Heroes vs Devilance the Pursuer. Okay, for a week, he's had them stuck there and done nothing. And then the heroes escape far too easily. Where the Steel vs Steel fight went on way too long, this one needed a few more pages to be believable. A minimal explanation at least is given to the point behind all the pointless stuff they've been going through.
Gritty Street Heroes Just As You Like Them. Bleah. Again, lots of pages, but nothing happens unless you count the very last panel where we learn "Gotham City is being targeted by Intergang." But that hardly requires four pages of setup. Bleah.
The History of the DCU. It takes 4 pages to recap recent events that *surely* the reader is expected to know. Unlike most issues, I didn't find a continuity error this time, except possibly the timing of events. Superman-2 after Crisis, gets mad at modern heroes for being lousy, as typified by an event that happened before Crisis (though in the post-Crisis universe). Doesn't really work for me, but, eh, whatever.
JSA #87 Lovely art. Not much else. The apparent desperate need for GL at the JSA HQ wasn't conveyed well to me. Everything else was okay, I guess.
Teen Titans # 37 More soppy handwringing. Sigh. Oh, and the Brotherhood's defeated, and the Brain's a brain again. And the last scene, with the kiss, will probably tick off fans of those characters, among whose number I am not included.
Secret Six #2 Fun stuff here and there, but Pistolera was not as fascinating as she needed to be. Still, gotta love the Mad Hatter.
The Atom #1 Another pointless revamp. And of course, we still haven't gotten far enough long for the hero to even have a costume yet. Sigh. Brave New World's story hasn't occurred yet in this timeline. Maybe.
Omac #1 Boring. Moving on...
Outsiders #38 Lousy art really hinders the early scenes here. What's going on? Who knows. The Outsiders bicker among themselves and then they catch up to the Brain and Mallah. The end.
Y the Last Man #47 Nothing special here, though the character's backstory which is told here is rather unpleasant.
The best part about Teen Titans #37 was when Mento unceremoniously informed The Chief EXACTLY what his role was... and Chief couldn't do a thing about it unless he wanted to be homeless.
Damn the Doom Patrol is cool

So, for those of us who didn't read it, who kissed who in Teen Titans?
I forgot to mention something about 52. The whole notion of "real time" in 52 is a complete sham. Usually the entire issue is devoted to one day. For example, all of Week 9 occurred in one day. So are we to believe that nothing happens for the rest of the week? Not to mention it leaves no room for cliffhangers. Like with Elongated Man and Green Arrow in one of the previous weeks where Elongated Man turns and sees something that shocks him. Well, it's been over a week, so unless they can hold that pose that long we're not going to find out what exactly he saw, that is unless he randomly wants to do an overview of everything that happened. I like the book, but the real time stuff needs to be worked on.

Tim and Cassie... but it was more a despoeraton thing than an actual kiss. They were both upset about Conner, and one thiung leads to another. After, they both looked like they were guilty as hell.
I'd condemn it because of the characters, but this is the kind of stuff that happes in real life all the time. It was perfect for them.

Aww
I like the idea of Cassie with Tim. I thought they'd be good together back in the "Young Justice" days, and again when Diana (Wonder Woman) was dating Bruce Wayne. Kinda side-kick love there to mirror the "adults"
Yea sorry, I've been real busy and haven't had time to write things up.
Heres what I thought:
Teen Titans #37 - rated 7 - Yea, they beat Brain etc. Doom Patrol tell thier leader to stop being a ####. Cass finds out that Robin is trying to clone Superboy. They kiss... hhhmmm. It was okay.
52 #9 - rated 8 - Starfire and friends beat the intergalctic bountry hunter and plan to escape the planet. Renee and Question have a chat. Still a good series.
Supergirl #7 - rated 5 - Emo Kara... bleeehhhhh. Turns out an evil Kal-El is running things in Kandor. She and PG fight him but she ends up kissing him instead. Why can't they write her correctly? WHY??!?!
Secret Six #2 - rated 9 - Still really good. They figure out that Cheshire and Doc Psycho sent all the assassins. Also we see that Catman and Cheshire now have a child. The parental control thing was hilarious. Great series so far.
JSA #87 - rated 8 - The end of the series for no good reason. Rebooting just for sales. Eh. We find out that only virgins (stargirl) and nobles (Wildcat) can avoid or hurt ghosts. Wildcat takes down Gentelman Ghost and huzzah... JSA is still good and i think the reboot will be good as well, though not needed for just a team change up.
Yea sorry, I've been real busy and haven't had time to write things up.
As I posted elsewhere;
Yeah, we know why too, Dc, it's cause SB-P punched reality so you ended up in Kandor so you could realize your dream of having Kara as your bride. So, you didn't have time to pick up a lot of comic's this week.
Supergirl #7 - rated 5 - Emo Kara... bleeehhhhh. Turns out an evil Kal-El is running things in Kandor. She and PG fight him but she ends up kissing him instead. Why can't they write her correctly? WHY??!?!
Yeah yeah, we all know it's not Evil Kal-El, it's really you in disguise. Damn that SB-Prime's powerful punches against reality.
JSA #87- It's a good thing Paul Levitz only did this arc. Because I'm not sure I could handle this book if he were the regualr writer. This story was cool, when looking at the origin of the Gentleman Ghost, but didn't offer much else. Bring back Johns and the JSA in September.
Teen Titans #37- This has been a strange arc, and probably one of Johns low points. How is it, that in both OYL arcs (Outsiders being the other one), Mallah and the Brain are the antagonists? That being said, this issue was better than the last few had been. The Cassie/Tim interaction seemed a bit forced, but was proabably a natural progression of things anyway. Cyborg's "I don't belong," statement points to the fact that he may be a member of the new JLoA. I think the point of the arc is to establsh that the Titans are a mess, and are having a difficult time rebuilding.
Outsiders #38- This also was a better issue than the previous ones had been, but not by much. I'm getting tired of the face full of monkey lovin' between Mallah and Brain. It adds more to the problem that they are currently in two titles. I did think that the split personality thing with Metamorpho, was cool. It may be the answer to "What happened to Shift?" maybe Rex reabsorbed him. I'm also having a bit if a hard time, with the way Nightwing is acting, compared to the way Batman and Robin are acting. They spent all that time together, and it looks like Tim and Batman came back closer and more trusting of each other, while Richard came back more like Batman was Pre-Infinite Crisis. So I hope there is more to it, that is explored later. I don't read Nightwing, so I'm not sure if this affects him in his title.
Secret Six #2- This has been great! Scandal is nuts! I liked how she tortured Pistolera, and Deadshot took her out.
52 # 9- This series continues to be solid. Love the fight between Natasha and Steel, and I'm just digging the whole Renee/Question story. Batwoman makes her first appearance, and I think she'll be making waves in Birds of Prey soon. I was heavily intruiged by whatever it was that Starfire, Animal Man, and Adam Strange witness, that Devilance is supposed to track them down for. Great to see Starfire showing off her abilites here.
Batman: Secrets #5 I really liked this series. Nothing ground breaking, but solid nonetheless. Joker's plan falls apart, when the Publisher he's blackmailing decides to go on tv, and admit what he did wrong. He then tells the public that as part of joker's blackmail, he was supposed to spindocotr some pics that made it look like Batman was about to kill the Joker. Solid read!
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
If you aren't reading this book yet, you really should start reading the TPB's and then start reading it. It's only 13 issues away from the conclusion, so now's a great time to start.
I found the first 6 TPBs at my local library and checked them all out on a whim. Whipped through them in about 4 days and went out and bought the 7th. I finished that and have picked up all of the loose issues up to the most recent EXCEPT for issue 44... I can't read the rest until I get that one :-(
I'm getting tired of the face full of monkey lovin' between Mallah and Brain.
Well, you're tired of it cause you're evolved, so, for you, no more fratinizing with ole uncle monkey
Just remember, Chimpanzees have 90% or so of the same DNA as humans, so please, don't crack open one's head and suck out it's brain to feed yourself with, that's 90% cannibalism
What would Tarzan do ? Well, if he was still a DC property, that is
