Who's your favorite Cover Artist and Why? I'm just trying to get a feel for why some artists are so highly touted and others aren't. Is it because of fan response, or hype?
You can only pick one.
Anyway, mine's J. Scott Campbell. I just like the way he puts little touches on people that other people sometimes overlook. For example, on the mini-poster for JLoA (on the DC website), he's got Zatanna with strait hair and Wonder Woman with Wavy hair. It may seem dumb, but it's just cool the way that people on his stuff never really look generic. Another good example is that inhis Spidr-Man sketches, MJ has freckles on her shoulders. If se's a redhead, she probably would in real life, but no one has ever really put that detail in. I like little stuff like that.

I'm a big fan of J. Scott, but Batman and Superman look pretty dumpy in the JLA cover he just did. Alex Ross seems to be losing his touch as of late, although the Justice covers are pretty cool. I like Daniel Acuna, Gabe Del'otto and Michael Turner as well.

Greg Horn. All of his covers are beautiful portraits. I especially love his Elektra covers (of which we get the great sculpt of one in Clobberin' Time).
I too like Michael Turner's covers. If you look at the way he does eyes, they seem to convey a lot of emotion. No matter how many of his females look alike, their eyes always tell the story. JLoA #0 showcases this very well.
