Action #841 Good stuff. In particular, good interactions between Superman and other heroes, good introduction of a new villain (though he seems a bit oblivious to the idea of personal property for an auctioneer), and a little bit of "Do they believe Superman really has returned" which manages to stay a subplot without being the plot itself.
JLA Classified #25 More good stuff. A good wrap-up to the story, with a wonderful new imagining of Gypsy. One could quibble with the silly uselessness of Aquaman, rushing to help his friends and needing to be rescued himself.
JSA Classified #14 More good stuff, continuing from JLA Classified, though Vixen's savageness at the beginning is a little out of left field and the whole "captured heroes fight each other" is a bit cliche by now.
Birds of Prey #96 Good stuff. The heroes rush out to help Black Alice who, thanks to the villains that the heroes are trying to rescue her from, gets ticked off. Although there's the disappointment at the end with the tease that Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) might be back; this is disappointing because we know it won't actually be true.
Hawkgirl #54 As ridiculous as Walter Simonson's breast obsession can be, one has to admire his background work. Everything has a pattern on it: the carpet, Kendra's dress, her bra, the walls, the chair's upholstery, etc. It's unfortunate that the plot isn't interesting enough to warrant such detail.
The Spectre #3 (of 3) Crispus finally merges with the Spectre (duh, like he wasn't going to) and avenges the murder of his own murderer by killing his own son. There's still no explanation for the reuse of the name "Jim Corrigan". And the story is told rather dispassionately for a conclusion that was almost certainly meant to be shocking and emotional. Entirely skippable.
52 #12 Black Adam's girlfriend predictably becomes Isis (predictable for anyone who had seen the preview of this cover). And that's pretty much it for this issue. Okay, there are some unusual developments in the Captain Marvel story, which are intriguing but not good, but it doesn't matter since we know what's going to happen to him anyway in "Trials of Shazam!".
Oh, and there's three dull pages of Renee and Question planning to go to Kahndaq to deal with Intergang. And three pages of Ralph talking to Cassie about the resurrection of Sue.
Oh, and two incredibly unsatisfying pages on the origin of Wonder Woman which does nothing to explain how she's different in this brave new world. (But Wonder Woman is shown topless!)

Im glad I'm not the only one to notice this, sad to say, changing the emphasis to Hawkgirl was a mistake in my opinion. This title is surely flying off my pull list.
if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.

Loved the nod to old-school LSH when Takron-IV put in a bid for Alcatraz. Looks like the Takron system was in the prison biz for centuries! It's small touches like this that makes Mr Busiek one of my favourites.
Wow, that was suprisingly not negative! Geez, I come into a review thread expecting something and ya just don't deliver!
Hahaha, anyway... Wonder Woman topless, hahahaha, priceless! I do totally agree with you on this issue of 52. The Origin was particularly disappointing as I was hoping it would become less of a waste of space now that they're done with the whole history thing.
"Come on Hulk! Where's the old boasting? The battle cries? Why aren't you bellowing about how you're 'the strongest one there is'? Could it be because... you know it's not true?"
"No. Because it's just too obvious."
-Juggernaut to Hulk
Now see? that's worth the price all on it's lonesome.
He neglected to mention that she's shown topless ... as an infant.

Damn does no one read Blue Beetle....This is a great book.....
I'd buy it but my local shop doesn't stock any shelf copies and I kept forgetting to tell them to put in on my list, and now I'm moving to a new state, so it's a moot point.

That's strange. From what I've been told, everything I write is negative. Apparently, I hate DC comics and it's a wonder that I'm still buying them. Therefore, all my comments above *must* have been negative. It's impossible for me to make positive comments about DC comics. Impossible, I tell you... or so I've been told.

I think you were far too easy on JSA: Classified. It was an incoherent mess, and I normally love Englehart. People were out of character, timelines were whack, and the dialogue overlayed with what seems like narrative loooking back on events was jilting.
I also thought the first few pages Courtney's thought ballons in no way matched the expressions on her face.
