I see that on eBay the prices for Multiple Man and Whizzer/Speed Demon are crazy high.

I saw the characters' stats but they aren't that impressive so I guess there is some high strategic combination I don't get.

So, can you explain me what's so great about them?

They are both a 1 per case veteran. It's not the stats.

In the case of Multiple Man he's a highly sought after generic.

In the case of Speed Demon I'm guessing that folks are having a hard time finding him.

Multiple Man is easy: he's Multiple Man. Everyone wants to get a bunch of him for their Multiple Man theme teams.

Speed Demon, while not a fantastic piece, is a very cheap HSS for your team (especially R Whizzer). Plus, he is one of the Rares in the set, making him pretty hard to come by.

Multiple Man pieces are high because everyone wants lots of multiples of him to play crazy teams. Much like what happened with the OMACs in Collateral Damage.

Whizzer/Speed Demon? No idea. He's good but not THAT good. I got an REV for what? 6 - 7 bucks maybe? I've seen Multiple Man REVs go for twice that.
