Whoever wrote this book should fall into a bottomless pit.
Mr. fantastic can be a little cold and analytical sometimes, but he's not a freakin' Nazi like he's depicted here! Good for Sue for finally realizing he's evil now, he's not the man she married. I hope she joins the resistance now, turning people invisible is an invaluable asset in a terrorist organization.
Civil war is turning our favorite characters like iron man, mr. fantastic and spider man into monsters. It needs to stop. This crossover has gone on long enough, it has kept the entire marvel universe bogged down supporting one gargantuan behemoth of a story that is told from so many points of view that the actual main plot is getting nowhere.
I only buy trades, so I've read 3 civil war comics so far, civil war#1 (carp), the infamous civil war #2 in which spiderman reveals his identity to everyone on the planet (worst comic I've ever read), and this month's fantastic four (entertaing, but still....) I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that civil war has had 100 issues of comics published in its name, why are we no closer to its conclusion? I read comics to escape from the world of government stupidity and evil and rules, now that bull**** has infiltrated my beloved fantasy world. I just thank the muses of writing that I still have the ultimate universe.
too a point, but you need to read spider-mans last issue before making judgement on that charactor, as for the politic angle thats a writers way of either agreeing or showing disagreement on the real world issues.
Civil War #4 is the last for me. I'm planning on ripping it up publicly unless this ends with a real good reason why everyone's personality has suddenly chnaged for the worse. Even Captain America comes off badly.
I disagree with the original post. This issue went a long way in humanizing Reed in the midst of the war. Reed is feeling vulnerable and afraid. He's escaping his fear by (once again) throwing himself into his work. He just wants the whole thing to end, and in his mind the most expedient way to end the war is to back the government. He's desperately afraid that he's doing the wrong thing but feels like he is in too deep to stop now.
Also, um dude, Spider-Man is going to be cool again, so chill. I like how Tony has become an ####### in the costume, but kind outside of it. Reed is a scientist who get's caught in his work and doesn't realize things until the last minute, and if you payed attention to the issue you said you read, you would realize that he is really thinking about it. Please don't judge a series you only read 3 issues of, thanks!
I have to agree with the anti Civil War sentiment. Iron Man was one of my favorite comic heros (hell, I liked him enough I stayed with the relaunch despite Ellis' ######## politics and being published so slowly it made Ultimates look fast in comparison), and now, as a character, he's more or less dead to me.
Civil War has had horrid writing (I'm marginally pro reg, but as far as what's gone down, I'd be backing Cap 110 percent, the governement and its heros are totally crossing the line).
Marvel is hanging by a thread right now. I'll wait till the end to see if I stay or go, but it's not looking good right now.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"

Dude, do yourself a favor and just drop them now. My only Marvel book (after dropping like, 6 over the past year due to my unwillingness to reward carppy scheduling, politics, substance of any kind, good story-lines, etc.) is Thunderbolts, and now they are "revamping" that title into the latest mad dash for cash by boucing the penciller and writer, both of which are fantastic.
Marvel = Dead. Spend your money on indies or anything Geoff Johns at DC, good stuff there.
DIE JOEY Q DIE!!!!!
But seriously, Marvel has been terrible these past two years. Drop 'em cold.
I hated it, it didn't entertain me at all, it was more Civil War, it had cartoonish comic-y art with a fancy-pants 'realistic' Civil War storyline there wasn't even a fight scene. "The worlds greatest comic magazine" my patootie!
the way reeds acting has greatly upseted me. he just watch one of his creations kill one of his friends and barely flitched. even if he does do what sumyunggai is true he is still acting like an heartless person.
I was behind cap from the beginin becasue in my eyes cap can do no wrong

Check out my Signature. That says it all for me, too.

He did 'flitch' it was just in his head. If you read FF, it shows him just concentrating on his work, and tuning everything out. It's hard for him, but he's trying to do that. Then Pete comes along, and I'm pretty sure Reed will do something soon.....Like switching sides!
I may be giving the writers and editors too much credit, but I'm pretty sure you are supposed to hate what is going on. It is fairly evident that the main players are are not acting like themselves.
I just hope that Scarlet Witch didn't do it. "No more happy endings"
