multiple clicks of 10 range, running shot and 4 damage with decent AV for a mere 62 points was big time cheese when this figure was released, and while it is easier to deal with now, it's still a solid investment and uber effective even today.
The figure is balanced by her low DV, but this is fine as it can be fixed with an easy application of a Defend piece or by mercenary-ing her to JSA. This is the only feat she needs as, for her cost, her AV and DaV are stellar. Not that ICWO wouldn't hurt; it's better to blast for 5 damage than 4, or even to out-range a 10-range piece by oracle-ing her range up to 11 for a surprise assault, but you don't want to go making her too expensive. Raising her cost by anything more than 10 or so makes the minimal problems she has far more problematic. Her minimal problems are only as minimal as they are due to how cheap a figure she is, so that even if she goes down real easy you'll still have a large enough and strong enough group of survivors to carry on the fight.
One of my favorite figures of all time! Much to the chagrin of opponents, I have rarely lost a game playing an all-E Blackfire team (despite her terrible defensive numbers).
This is one of those piece that really breaks the mold... her values are peerless at her point cost - a running 4 damage at 10 spaces with 10 attack makes her just about the best foil to your opponent's bricks. Late-dial Force Blast, when paired with Willpower, means she can easily surprise somebody on a rooftop with a push-or-die choice. Her low defense is the only reason she isn't completely outrageous... she is going to be trading shots and taking hits, but she will give as good as she gets.
