Ok for some reason we don't have a thread on this...

Word around the campfire is that Doom may not be the final boss (I was under the distinct impression he was). I wouldn't think Onslaught, Galactus or any of the other viewed bad boys are the final boss.

Galactus isn't. He was an example of missions. They wouldn't show the final boss as an example.

Plus, after you beat him, you unlock Silver Surfer. If Big G was the last one, why would the game makers put in a character that you can only use after you've beaten the game?

And my team would be Deadpool, Luke Cage, Ghost Rider and Invisible Woman.

I think Galactus is the boss from the first level, or at least I heard as much last time I read a preview for the game.

Also, there was a thread for this game, but it's on the other page now.

Personally, my team would be Spider-Man, Thor, Dr. Strange, and Iceman.

Is Deadpool confirmed for this? If so, my team would be:

Deadpool
SpiderMan
Iron Fist(Is he in this?)
Gambit/Nightcralwer(Can't choose!)

Also, Iron Fist, Gambit and Nightcrawler aren't playable. In fact, Nightcrawler get's kidnapped by Dr. Doom at the beginning.

I believe they just confirmed Iron Fist as a playable character. At least to the VIP members.

Correct, though they still haven't "shown" Doom as a mission example... which would lead me to believe... it's Thanos.

They did it for Deadpool in XML2.

nothing except insider information, the ability to talk with the creators, and get other snippets of information before everyone else. Certainly not worth signing up

Does anyone know, will this be a self contained game, or will it be an online game? (or both?)

I'm considering getting it for PS2 to play with my GF, but don't want to have to get some online subscription in order to use the game.

(I really hate the concept of paying $50 for a game, and then being required to pay a continuous fee to use the thing that I have already bought.)

XML2 had online capabilities without the annoying online fees. Play with up to 3 others in mission or skirmish. I would suspect/hope this will have continued. It was very strongly hinted at anyhow.

It is definitly an online game. You are supposed to be able to play in co-op and vs. modes. It will be free for the PS2.

I'm not 100% sure AZS (More like 69% sure), but I think it will be online and it will be free, yet optional.

I'm pretty sure you can just play for free, I think. But it will probably be both, as in you don't have to go online to play it. What games aren't self contained besides computer games?
