Better than you'd think. I've used him SEVERAL times. Not only
have I been surprised at his effectiveness but my opponents
have as well. You first look at the dial with smoke cloud and the 0 range and think what a poorly designed fig. That part of it is lame, but
the wildcard TA, willpower, leadership is great for 37 points. In
200-300 games he rocks! Try him you'll be surprised!
I'll start with my sole complaint about the rookie: his damage is low; quite literally almost as low as it could be without him being Destiny.
Now all of the good. He has lots and lots of little tricks for only 37pts. Any wild card that inexpensive has lots of possibilities. His opening leadership and smoke cloud allow for a lot of team support, done, most likely, from the comforts of stealth. Willpower just adds to his opening dial usefulness.
Flurry helps his low damage and late dial charge and CR make a nice combo for tying up pieces while trying to plink away.
A nice piece all around. Oh, and the keywords are nice too.
Certainly not a bad figure, especially for 37 Points. Sure, he's loaded with 1 damage, but it's kinda cool just how far that Wildcard can take him. Also, he's my fill-in dial for Kick-A$$
That's a fine top click to support a battle with Smoke Clouds and perhaps offer some TA synergy, but clicks 2-5 struggle to be relevant at all with 1 damage and no supporting strategy. Charging for 1 damage? Good luck achieving anything with that. I hate to rag on old figures, but a few more 2's on damage could have at least made him sorta viable.
