I have a 3000 point game tonight, no Galactus, no Spectre, no proxy cards, no figures under 120 pts, six moves per turn. First of all, what are proxy cards??
Second, I would appreciate any strategy suggestions that you would care to tell me... My team is as follows:
Dark Phoenix 1000 pts
Nimrod 264 pts
Vet Hyperion 224 pts
Nova LE 200 pts
Magneto (Armor Wars) 187 pts
NGN Iron Man 160 pts
Superman LE (Collateral Damage) 211 pts
Vet Drax 184 pts
Exp Silver Surfer 189 pts
Vet She-Hulk 170 pts
Vet Kang 199 pts

Point total 2988 pts
11 figures
That is the team I am going with so far...but I also have a Graviton U, Vet Starhawk and Vet Darkseid that I am considering...
Put Stunning Blow on Iron Man and Gravitron. They form a great tag team of Incap. Put Nova Blast on Nimrod and possible drop Kang to Exp and utilize his Masters of Evil Team ability. I would personally drop the Nova LE because in my experience she drops to quickly and in a big point game you need to be prepared to take damage.
Drop Drax too, him and shulkie are going to get wrecked if you put them in. I would toss in V surfer over the E and if you have some KC Supermen or GLs around, toss them in, Thanos, hell, toss in the kitchen sink. In pog form of course.
Vet Icons Wonder Woman is only 127 points, but will give you a 5 damage value.
I'm a big fan of Wildfire and Persuader, from Legacy. Both have 120+ point versions, and you can do some wildcard tricks with them.
Just thinking about this is making my head hurt. Good luck, man.

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

Alright, I am getting ready to go to the game. I cannot use some of the advice posted here, but only because I don't have a Vet Silver Surfer or Icons Vet Wonder Woman, but I do feel a little better going into the game now. I will post how it turned out later tonight or maybe tomorrow afternoon (after all, I have to hit Cici's pizza buffet after the game!). Thanks to all of you who offered advice/strategy. Have a great night !
For the future, consider the E or even R Kang with Shellhead and Nanobots.
With his solid attack value, MoE TA, and late-dial Phasing (to get away and Nano), he's simply a monster. I've lost to teams with one or both of them as the backbone more than I really want to admit.
Well, alot of people there had Dark Phoenix (I thought that I maybe would be the only one *naive*), and I ended up playing against her twice in the three games that I played. In the first game, I managed to take out some version of Green Lantern (not sure which one) and my opponent's Dark Phoenix, but he took my Dark Phoenix and several other pieces as well. So I lost the first game. It wasn't TOO bad of a loss, but if "Time" had not been called, it would have gotten alot worse.
In my second game, my opponent did not have Dark Phoenix, but he had alot of figures and ALOT of the orange cards. I did not take out any of his figures, and he took out my NGN Iron Man. "Time" was then called, and I lost my second game.
In the third game, I played against another team that had a Dark Phoenix. I managed to take out some version of Superman, E Kang, Vet Photon (Supernova) and a fourth figure that I cannot remember, and my opponent took out my AW Magneto. So I won that round.
I have to say, that all three of my opponents were nice to me, even as there characters were stomping the #### out of mine . Seriously, it was nice to play against people and for no one to take it personally.
Everyone seems to play alot of cards, so I think I am going to have to learn to use them, even though I do not like them and think they have changed the game for the worse (ie ICWO, Nanobots, etc). *sighs*
OH, and after the game, I was talking with one of my opponents, saying I was wishing for a Thanos, and he said he would trade one to me for my Silver Surfer LE.....well, with Thanos being my favorite character, and Silver Surfer being retired anyways, I thought about it for .000001 seconds and said "Sure!" SO NOW I HAVE A THANOS !!!! *extremely happy about this*

I hope so. Thanos averages about half the price as Surfer on ebay, and is much more readily available.
Granted, it's not all about what it's worth, so if you're happy, that's the most important part, but there's a reason I often consult others before making trades...
By the time you go through the hassle of ebay, a lot of times it is just easier to take a loss, especially if you will never use but also never sell the figure in question.
