My local shopkeep keeps bringing up the fact that come Mighty Avengers in March, it will not be Tony who is wearing the armor. Based on hints throughout various CW titles (Tony stating he himself might not live through the war, Sandman getting in the cracks of the armor and destroying him from the inside out, etc), James figures it'll be Hank Pym in the armor - based on close ties with Tony and having the tech know-how to operate the gizmos in the suit.

Anyone else have any theories on this?

Okay, I know you will think this is a joke, but it really isn't.....maybe it will be a clone of Tony Stark inside the Iron Man suit? He DID already clone/cyborg Thor, so it's not like he doesn't have access to the technology. Also, this is a character who has used Life Model Decoys before, not to even mention operated numerous different Iron Man suits at once from his base of operations. Clone-Stark could be Iron Man, while Original-Stark will be running SHIELD.....you know, crazier things have happened in the Marvel Universe .

So you mean we'll basically have the Clone Saga, only on a much larger scale?

Oh, and Loki will be revealed to have been Tony Stark ever since Kid Tony died. Not that that will make sense. It'll just be revealed is all.

Venom just took a bite out of him and...he...pulled himself together again. Details are weird, but don't worry, the story sucked so it isn't important.

The best reason to explain his return is that he heard he was going to be in a movie so he pulled himself together.
