Example: v. Mockingbird has just smacked her target with a close combat action, which causes the target to be knocked back (due to rolling doubles, Low Gravity, 'space' map, what-have-you). Since the feat doesn't stipulate against it, can Mockingbird choose to use Vault to 'follow' her target, getting placed adjacent to the square to which the target was knocked?
{Apologies if this has already been covered here.}
Vaulters do indeed get to follow their target in the event of Knock back.
"After the character resolves a close combat action, it may be placed in any square in which it may legally be placed adjacent to a target of the action at the same elevation as the target."
Knock back is done during the action, and Vault takes place after the action resolves. Since nothing restricts the Vaulter specifically from following along after KB, then it can do so even to the point of changing elevations to match the target's elevation.
Yeah, nothing front-loaded, sadly. This appears to be the complete list of when you could pull it off.

If Mockingbird doesn't have CCE, I'm not really that worried about her. Her entire thing is 19 DV at close, and hits for 4. Once that's gone, I'm not worried about her at all.

Dude, Rep to you on this.
I just got back from a Tourney where my Rookie Iron Fist did this to a Supes Robot. I rolled double 5's and wasn't sure how Vault would work, as by following that robot would have taken Iron fist awy from the other two robot Supes.
But I was seriously just about to jump on here and ask that same question.

Would the character using Vault suffer knockback from falling damage if the target character is knocked off elevated?
Okay, I see where you're going with this. The process of the Vaulter "following" its target should not be taken to mean it takes falling damage if going from elevated to grounded.
