In light of the new New Avengers line up, I was wondering what others all-time favorite line up is. Personally, I don't really consider myself and Avengers fan. Growing up in the 80's, their stories were boring to me. However, I've grown to like them OK. As long asthey have a few members that I like (i.e Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Spider-Woman) I'll continue to spend the $$ to pick up their comics.
The new line up is alright, though I'm not the biggest Dr. Strange fan:
Ronin
Dr. Strange
Spider-Man
Wolverine
Spider-Woman
Luke Cage
Iron Fost
I really like Bendis' first New Avengers Line up:
Iron Man
Captian America
Spider-Man
Wolverine
Luke Cage
Spider-Woman
Sentry
I don't consider Ronin a member since her involvment was not really as an official member. It was more as a person who was helping out the team.
I like the original line up, despite my disdain for Hank Pym:
Hulk
Ant-Man
Wasp
Iron Man
Thor
Please list the line up you like(d) and what major story line they have appeared in.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
Modern (2000) Wasp and Giant Man
Captain America when he lost faith in America
Hawkeye without any trick arrows (from the 80s I think?)
Yellowjacket when Hank Pym was having a meltdown
Captain Marvel and Songbird from the future
with modern Rick Jones
They're an odd team, but they work together really well in a great story.
My next favourite was roughly at the beginning of the third volume of the series.
Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Scarlet Witch
Vision
Quicksilver
Wonder Man
Justice
Firestar
Kind of a large team, but they worked really well together. They were also taking on some heavy hitters so it made sense too. Ultron Unlimited is another one of my favourite Avengers stories.

This is what I get for not posting soon enough...someone else gives pretty much the same answer I would. Though to be specific, Hawkeye was from right after the Kree-Skrull war. He'd lost the Goliath growing ability but hadn't yet gone back to his trick arrows. And Cap was from the 70s, when he had actual super strength and right after watching the leader of the Secret Empire turn out to be a major part of the U.S. Government.

Edit: Oh wait I have to stay true to my code, I meant to say my favorite version of the Avengers would be the MITEY 'VENGERS: Big Boy, Captain Amerikid, Hawkey, Iron Ace, Thunderson, and Wisp because they appeared with the X-Babies and that makes them the best.
Self-Appointed Leader of the X-Babies Action Pack Society!
Cap's Kooky Quartet! I was going to say that one too. Why haven't I played that team in clix yet?
You're good. But I'm magic!

The problem is that a lot of new players come from the "race generation" they want to define their worth by the "skill" they posses in playing a game of toy soldiers.
Does anyone know the full line-up for Geoff John's run on the book?
Ant-Man
Captain America
Falcon
Jack of Hearts
She-Hulk
Warbird
Wasp
Vision
More or less, that's them. Black Panther hung around a lot too, but I forgot if he was actually part of the team or not. Ditto with She-Hulk, but I'm kinda sure she joined.

So the team, with hanger-ons, would be as follows:
Ant-Man

Jack of Hearts
She-Hulk
Warbird
Wasp
Vision
Black Panther
For some reason I remember Namor being around at one point, same with Hawkeye, Yellowjacket, Thor, & Hercules. And what about Iron Man?
I'm looking to put together a John's Avengers 1,000 pt. team.
Out of that run I just caught the very last issue of the Zodiac/In-Betweener story, and then nothing again until the "Search for She-Hulk", and then stuck around through Austin and now Bendis. Thanks for all the help.
My main reading of the Avengers mostly coincided with:
Beast
Captain America
Iron Man
Scarlet Witch
Vision
Wasp
Wonder Man
roughly issues 199-210
I also find it interesting those that include the Hulk as he only appeared in 2 issues in the 20th century.
Of course the jumbo 14 roster was also cool roughly issues 175-180:
Beast
Black Panther
Black Widow
Captain America
Hawkeye
Hercules
Iron Man
Moondragon
Quicksilver
Scarlet Witch
Thor
Vision
Wasp
Yellowjacket
"A Jester unemployed is nobody's fool." - The Court Jester "And so he says, I don't like the cut of your jib, and I go, I says it's the only jib I got, baby!
I don't remember the exact lineups-but back when I was avidly reading the Avengers they were:
Cap
Thor
IronMan
Hawkeye
Scarlet Witch & Vision(the whole Wanda loves a machine thing seemed sorta creepy to me as a kid-they drug it out way too long too)
WonderMan(he was chasing Wanda then)
Yellowjacket
Beast
Black Panther
Hercules
Swordsman& Mantis(I liked them and the tension that she and Swordsman brought to the team)
Moondragon
