The last game (X-Men Legends) appeared enjoyable yet didn't stand the test of time all that well.
AND REMEMBER, as with all of these threads, they are Always OPEN for additional participation or comments. So you see an unjust on the list below, and havent made a rating yourself, Do So Now.
ALSO REMEMBER, make your rating on either a whole number or a .25 increase (ex. 8, 9.25, 3.50, 6.75, 10, 5.5, etc.)
**********
As a big time video game fan myself, I'm always interested in discussing some of my favorite games, the ones I downright hate, and everything in between really, with other video game players. So I thought what better place to do so here at HCR than at the Video Games Forum, with so many other video game players (thats YOU ALL).
So, I'd like to see about making this a series of threads, each one dealing with another classic, or not so classic, game and our opinions on it and in the end a RATING. (I mean, how many times have we all played a game and in our minds, or to other friends, given it an out of 10 rating.)
Well here I'd like you all to do the same, and discuss WHY you feel it deserves the rating youve give it. With each future such thread, we'll post the Average Score you've all give past games, so as time goes on youll get to see which games we here at HCR rank the highest, and the lowest, and by how much difference. Also please post what console(s) you played it on.(and possibly list the differences/plusses/minuses) Handhelds will have a seperate rating.
Our next game open for discussion, and ultimately an Overall RATING by you all:
Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, everlasting game or overhyped trash, and DON'T FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.
Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (E.T.) to 10 (Super Mario Bros), and that's it. 'Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.
So, what say you all?

Character selection is quite good (would've liked a couple more).
Gameplay is relatively simple and entertaining.
However, like XML, it gets a bit repetitive at times.
Loved the game! Have it for the PC, and soon the Wii.
The only reason I never gave it a 10 is because it is a little repetitive at times.
sig·na·ture [sig-nuh-cher, -choor]
1. a person's name, or a mark representing it, as signed personally or by deputy, as in subscribing a letter or other document.
Huge roster of characters (+++)
Costume choices (++)
Simple control mechanics make it easy to pick up (+)
Varied visual differences for each level (+)
Cons-
Some odd playable character choices (--)
Console exclusive characters (--)
Lame mini-boss difficulty makes you say "... What?" when 'B-Villain X' beats the Avengers (--)
Simple control mechanics keep things repetitive (-)
Pointless and lame "puzzles" break up the action (-)
It's fun, but pales when compared to XML2. Most of it's bonus points come from letting us finally play as Thor, Iron Man, and Cap. It looses points for no Punisher, Namor, Thunderbolts, or Hulk (as playable characters). Also, the massively decreased ability to customize your heros, and the many replicated powers was a serious detractor.
It does get a few bonus points for the shear number of Marvel Villains included in the game though. From the Wrecking Crew in Asgard to Shocker and Rhino in Murder World.
Still, I would have loved a Hydra Base to smash through (along with AIM), didn't like that Thor/Thing had to yank shields away from guys to really hurt them, the weapon system was silly (why should wolverine need to pick up a bent pipe?) and so on. I'll also agree on the lameness of console speciffic characters (why no Hawkeye so I can run a proper Avengers team on Xbox360?)
Good, but could have been MUCH better.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
I played XMNL2 extensively, and got magneto, charles, and cyclops to level 99, with my lowest leveled guys being 92s, and I was thinking this game would be just as good, it was about equal. The game runs kind of slowly on my PC, and I needed to futz with the settings A TON to get it to run at a reasonable speed. This made it really difficult to do combos.I missed the echoey voice that yells out "COMBO!" when you do a power combo. I like the wieldable weapons a lot. I did not like the parts where you beat a bunch of the bosses by tapping buttons when cued to by the screen, Kraken, Ymir, and Arcade's robot were all like this, what's the point of buying and upping powers when you just need to tap F and 6 repeatedly? I also don't like the chargeable powers aspect. If I buy a power and it deals 45 damage, I want it to deal 45 damage ALL THE TIME, I don't want to have to charge it to get its full effect; the fact that all the chargeable powers have the same sound effect was also annoying. My final qualm about the game was the penalties that came with some of the gear. After beating Arcade, I was thinking "man, what a pain in the butt it was getting him to punch himself in the head till he fell over, I hope I get some good gear" I looked: Joybuzzer, 5% of melee attacks paralyze victims "good, I think I'll put it on Cage, so he can paralyze an enemy and use hammer toss on him" then I saw the penalty: 5% OF MELEE ATTACKS DAMAGE SELF I sold it instantly, I made maybe 1 attack a second, and deal a lot of damage, I'd be dead in five minutes, even with cage's regeneration maxed. It's disappointing to beat a boss, look at the gear you get, and then see it's ####.
Excellent, excellent game, I especially liked the "my team" thing, along with the reputation points and levels.
8.5/10
And nothing else but XM2 may be a 8.5. But I had to leave a little room for the improvement that will come. The powers can be more diverse and it doesn't hurt to have players with powers that no one else can simulate. Good golly even Daredevil has a form of pulse-effect. But man its great to have these games.
it’s kinda sad that the most dominant figures in this game are hookers, medics, and dogs…..
"I wasn't making a personal attack! I was just applying insults and idiotic generalizations to a group of people you might be a part of! You shouldn't respond to my generalizing you indirectly!"
hey, I just finished the game, and I have a question. You know how on xmen legends 2, when you finished the game and then clicked start a new game, it let you load characters from a saved slot, so you could level them up some more? I can't figure out how to do this for ultimate alliance, does this game not have that feature?
