Uncanny X-Men #484 - Rated 5 - Erm... the catgirl looked hot in that one scene. Though I found it odd she table dances for her shipmates, but hey whatever. As for the rest of the story? The team rescues some Shi-ar General so they can use his talents to aid them. Hurray. Other stuff happened but I was to bored to care.
CW: Inititive #1 - Rated 6 - This is basicly a $5 advertisement for the after CW books. Mighty Avengers etc. We see some Omega Flgiht stuff. T-Bolts and Ms. Marvel having a chat with Spider-woman, which seemed to be the big reason to buy the book. Oh yea, Carol tells Jess that Cap isn't dead. So does that mean Cap A #25 is BS? I mean thats a quick lie for Joey Q. We didn't even have to wait till next week. SOmething got contradicted the exact same day.
Mighty Avengers #1 - Rated 9 - I actaully really liked it. Nice to see the Avengers doing some super heroing. Mole Man is attacking the world. The new team gets hand picked. I really wasnt likign the internal thought stuff for some reason. Though it really gives it that human feel. I think Bendis does really well when in his element. Thsi was really good. The Ares scene was great. Especally when IM told The God of War he has to register. Good stuff EDIT: Forgot to mention that IM turns into a female Ultron, seems he/she/it's the secret bad guy.
Ult Vision #3 - Rated 7 - Vision sets the space station to slam into the Earth so everything will be destoried. She succeeds and escapes withthe child. Unfortuantly this is EXACTLY what the Galactus bug wanted as it had repaired iteslf and wanted to be free. Now it's going to pick it's mission back up. It's an okay read though I think Ult Galactus is a flop.
Ult Spider-man #106 - Rated 8 - Guess who makes an appearance: Ult Jess Jones. She's nothing like her 616 version unfortuantly. DD contacts Pete and tells him he's forming a group to kill Fisk. At the end the secrt new student joining the school is.... Gwen? NOPE! Spider-woman? NOPE! It's Kitty Pryde! Looks like she is going after her man! To bad Peter is trying to break up with her so he can be with MJ. Good series as usual!
Marvel Zombies/AoD #1 - Rated 7 - Woah you can really tell this isn't Kirkman. The writing isn't as good. The stuff with Ash was funny. The arrival of Zombie Sentry happens the fit hits the shan. One thing I didn't like was that the zombie transformation is instant. Col. A got bit but not killed. He threw up and then changed. Plus that they turn and immediatly go "FLESH!" And attack the living. Seemed out of character or something fromt he original series. Anyways, Spidy with a tied up Ash swing away but Col. A bites SPidy who drops the tied up Ash in the middle of 3 superzombies! Uh oh. Oh yea one thing I really hated was that apparnetly "heaven" is another dimension which was destoried by Zombie Sentry. Cause Ash saw it happen. And Sentry hit Ash so hard it sent him through the dimensional walls to 616 earth. Lame writing IMO but hey more zombies!
I did NOT get a coopy of Cap A #25 cause it was sold out. If anyone finds an extra copy let me know and Ill pay for it (like pay pal or something) if you want to mail it to me. Send me a PM.
I heard Captain America came out today - anyone know what happened in it?
Jokes aside this just goes to answer the question of "What harm is there if a bunch of new people go buy comics for speculation?" Well, besides the fact that a similar event kicked off what we now cringe at when remembering the comics of the 1990's, you end up with regular readers who are just outta' luck.
(I have to give my comic seller credit - he said he sold 20 of the issue in five minutes on E-Bay (he's basically an online store) but he made sure all of his regular customers had one set aside for them at normal price, even those who don't normally read Cap but read similar titles).
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

If I can find the trade later on for a good price I'll probably pick it up.
Ultimate Spider-Man was fun, and it setup my favourite kind of Spider-Man stories, the street level gang war types. And Kitty showing up at Peter's school...yeah, she's gone off the deep end. Things are going to get really messy.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man had a nice upswing. The interaction between Sandman and Spider-Man was interesting and entertaining. We get a little more of Miss Arrow tormenting Betty Brant (I'm SO glad Peter's supporting cast is back), and a little more evil Uncle Ben. While I'm hoping a strong finish will seal the deal, I'm now looking forward to a title I considered dropping. Wish the art had been a little better though.
The Initiative was an interseting little aside that would have been nicer had it not cost 5 bucks. It was linked to 3 titles I am/will be reading and seeing a quick shot of Alpha Flight is what sold me the book. The beautiful art by Silvestri was a nice plus too. Nice to know Sasquatch is alive, though an American becoming the next Guardian is a little...upsetting. I haven't read the Collective yet, but I guess it could be interesting to see what happens with him on the team.
Mighty Avengers was a lot of fun. It really seemed like a throwback to older Avengers books and the return of thought bubbles was kinda cute. Bendis should work with those more often, it gave everything a bit more punch. Speaking of punches, there were a lot of those and the twist at the end with Iron Man turning into Ultron was pretty cool. It's nice to have an Avengers team that fights giant monsters from the center of the Earth instead of ninjas.
Fantastic Four was a big surprise. I figured I would enjoy it, but nearly as much as I did considering it was a look back at the team. Reed and Sue reassess their lives as a special on the FF airs on TV. Some of the interviews are a lot of fun and Doom's just brought the house down. I cannot wait until McDuffie does a Dr. Doom story, though he'll hopefully have the original FF back together by then. Black Panther and Storm join by the end of the story in a way that's...well...not completely stupid is probably the best way to describe it. It's also nice that BP can no be written by someone who isn't Hudlin. Bonus points for a She-Thing appearance too. The back up stories that are basically Stan Lee meets the Fantastic Four (with the awesome title of "If This Be...Anniversary!") and a little Human Torch/Spider-Man story are pretty much just icing on the cake and worth the extra buck.
It was a surprisingly good week. Or that might just me not getting enough sleep. But it was fun reading all of that.
I bought Cap....The store I went to was selling it for $10 each [but cover price for me because I'm a regular], and they're still going out like hotcakes [they have tons, and I mean TONS ordered]. It's an awesome read. You may not like the creative direction they're going with this, but as a story it's actually really good. It rehases what happened in the Civil War, then shows Sharon Carter's and Bucky's experience with Cap.
Since as of typing this post, no one has posted what happened in #25, I'll go into more detail [spoiler]:
Cap is being transferred away surrounded by cops. He sees a sniper away, and the sniper shoots at their direction. Seems like it was targeting a cop. Cap jumps and and take teh bullet. But isn't wounded too bad. Sharon Carter jumps in and tries to hel phim with teh crowd running, adn someone shoots Cap up-close inteh stomach. Cap is then taken away by an ambulance. Bucky tries to help Cap but arrives too late. Falcon sees Bucky, adn thoguth he did it. Turns out the sniper was Crossbones. Bucky gets Crossbones and beats him up real bad. Cap then is announced to be dead. Sharon is grieving over him, when Red Skull's daughter comes in and makes her see a vision from Dr. Faustus. Turns out Faustus mind-controlled Sharon at the last minute and had her shoot and kill Cap. She realized what she's done and collapses in grief. The issue ends with Cap's body covered up on the medical table.

Got this myself haven't read it all the way thru yet.
I'd rather see Hercules on the team or Thor than Ares.
So Ms. Marvel and IM are picking the Mighty Avengers over drinks and they decide they need a Thor, they need a Wolverine, etc. Wouldn't you think they would need a, I don't know, CAPTIAN AMERICA!!!!!!!!
And I guess Bendis rediscovered the thought balloon but man I thought they were really unnecessary and annoying.
So Cap is dead. Yawn. Either he is faking his own dead or someone else will replace him (ala Iron Man and Ronin). Does anyone else think this gimmick is getting old?
Hulk this month was great. He is getting some nookie. He is repairing the land from the battle that was just fought with the Red King. Send the space worms away. He is happy and the thiers a big explosion at the end.
Now the war of lights begins...... A black Lantern will rise.... Who will it be? Find out in Green Lantern 2009

Yeah, Hulk was great. He finds out that the Illuminati didn't just want to send him away, but the reason for sending him away was to kill him. Kids are playing on the wreckage of the ship in which he arrived. This sets off a beeping sound Hulk finds familiar...a faulty atomic bomb is set and goes off.
What i found funny about the Initative was that when Jarvis tells Stark he can cherry pick from any of the superheros in the world... there is the big poster of 5 he'd want. But can't have because they're either crazy, dead basically because of his actions, a fugitive and everyone thinks he's dead.
Well ok. So he probably doesn't want Quicksivler. The Cap story was written well but still, a horrible way to go. It also shows that Redskull can exert GREAT influence at shield. So... if your a superhero and think yoru secret Identity is safe with shield. Yeah. Good luck with that.
Fantastic Four was really entertaining. Though... I had to laugh when I saw wolverine in their. I mean if they needed someone to say reed isn't perfect they could of used any of the 3 or so Anti-reg heroes that were in the documentry. Like say... Luke Cage?
I'm surprised that the embassy thing is why the Fantastic Four are going to be led by T'Challa and Storm. I mean I'd think Wakandian technology could put up buildings in like a day.

No WAY Reed approved that one. Must of been Tony doing his own "thing" again.
