I don't know about everyone else but I've lost interest in Ultimates 2. Chances are Ultimates 3 is half done already and they just have to wait until the current creative team figures out how to end the story, or whatever they're doing.
I love me some Joe Mad art, and I loves me some Jeph Loeb writing.
So just end it already Ultimates 2!
As of now the last/next issue is solicited for May 2nd, but they've been constantly pushing it back. They can apparently make full length animated features faster than single issues of a comic book.
(I realize it's not the same people making both.)
The last issue came out in September for crying out loud. What gives?
I believe I read somewhere that Ed McGuiness (sp?) is doing Ultimates 4 at the same time as Mad. We all know that Hitch's art is slow, but the cool thing I think is that with this pace, we may actually get a semi-close to monthly book for a year or so. Of course after Mad's Battle Chaser's work, it'll probably start out with three issues and then take a year between new ones.
Really, his pencils were done back then and most of the inking/colouring and such should have been as well. Unless he's also inking this one I didn't think it would take until May.

In the majority of professions, if you were expected to turn something in every month, but instead turned it in every 6-12 months, you wouldn't be rewarded. I'll still buy the issue, but I really think that Hitch and Millar shouldn't be praised for being lazy.
That's the worst thing. I'm already 12 issues into the series. Even if I didn't buy the last issue out of spite, it would be a useless gesture. It would just deprive me of a full run if I wanted to sell them later. They've got me by the "Jacobs".
That's been pushed back a few times already as well. I remember feeling so very sorry for a kid who wrote into the Ultimate Spidey letter column and in it he mentioned how much he love the Ultimate universe and was looking forward to getting the collected Ultimates 2 TPB for Christmas...the guy answering the letter just said, "Well, looks like you may not have gotten it for Christmas" (or something along those lines)...he probably didn't mean it flippant but, geez, choose a different letter rather than one that practically mocks a little kid not getting his b.b. gun, er, Ultimates 2 TPB for Christmas.
And, Canada Maestro, that's okay..we all accept your apology. We realize you're from Caina-da which, as the Frozen Lake of Tears in the Ninth Circle does make you prone to misdirection.

I'm thinking I may start asking my patients if they're comic-book collectors or video-game fans. If any say, "Yes" then I know I can get away with not treating them for six months or more and they'll be used to it and, perhaps, even make excuses for me.

Well, at the rate that it's going, the kid will get it for Christmas, just not the Christmas he expected.
