He is the scenario. E Supergirl is based by E ShadowThief. Supergirl decides to try and take a swing at Shadowthief but he is one his first click and makes his ShapeChange roll. Now, since the wording with the power states The attacker must choose another target or take a different action
can I then decide I want to try and roll breakaway as part of my different action?
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

technohead is right. if that 5 or 6 is rolled, no matter what, your fig is taking a token. you can choose to roll breakaway and attack someone else with Charge/Running Shot, you can base someone else, whatever. bottom line is, you're still taking a token.
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing
one caveat, if you are in the middle of a charge, then you can only choose another target if someone else is adjacent to your fig. Otherwise, they are stuck there with an action. On a running shot, you can take back any movement, and can only target another legal target that is within range. if no one is, then you must take a token and sit there.
Lead me not into temptation, just point me in the general direction and I'll find it myself.

On a running shot, you can take back any movement,
... incorrect. Running Shot works exactly like Charge. No movement can be taken back because the attack occurs after the movement is over. If there are no legal targets, then the character is stuck. Maybe you can blast a wall or something, at least, but your character isn't going anywhere.
