I'm really, really disapointed with what they've done to WW. Regardless of the mess that Heinberg left, I had high expectations with Picoult's take after reading her 10th Circle novel, and felt let down by WW #6.
Is it me, or is Nemesis written totally out of character? Or is this a new Nemesis? The Tom Tresser I remember wasn't the type to whine and complain about $4 coffee drinks and seemed a helluva lot more mature than this doofus of an agent. I'm not championing Nemesis by any stretch of the imagination, but would it have killed them to make up a new partner for Diana rather than butcher an exisiting character? This Nemesis feels more like Roy Harper was written years ago, down to the soul patch fuzz on his chin.
Furthermore, it feels like the direction Heinberg spun the book of on is totally wrong. Diana is now living Clark Kent's life down to the glasses. When you think about Clark, he's working for an agency (the press) that wants to find Superman (to get a scoop of a story) - and is (or at least was once depicted as) always playing the bumbling reporter who always happened to avoid bumping into Superman.
Diana also works for an agency that is looking for her alter ego and always happens to be around the area WW is sighted, yet never seems to come up with any leads... this can only be drawn out for so long...
Does the Dept. of Metahuman affairs not have a thorough screening process to detect if their agents are in fact, metas? How is it that Nemesis, a self styled master of disguise is unable to pierce Diana's facade? It would be understandable if the writers had written off these inconsistencies to magical involvment (on behalf of Zatanna, Circe, whoever), but these things seem to be glossed over.
Thoughts?

Well, the golden age Wonder Woman wore glasses when she was in disguise. That was the 40's... so, this is more or less a throw back to that time and that version of the char. Kind of done in homage, I'd think.
Well, some of it - the white outfit, the time of powerlessness, training from I-Ching, etc. are all nods to the All-New Wonder Woman of the 1970's (same Wonder Woman, just she wasn't powered for a time period and became a kung-fu crime-fighter).
The glasses were Clark's idea so I guess it's fair to compare the two.

As for Diana, she learned English in a day or so. She wrote a book on global economics. She managed the budget of an embassy. And yet she is entirely unfamiliar with the concept of credit cards. Despite the JLA having had their own for while.
Diana is not and should not be portrayed as being unfamiliar with how the world works. She is not Paris Hilton (who probably fakes it anyway). At the beginning of the old Perez reboot, when she just arrived in Man's world, sure. But she's lived there for over a decade now, and she is supposed to be one of the most intelligent people on the planet.
Heinberg was bad and late. This somehow manages to be worse.
I agree. I dropped the title because this is not Diana.

This is not Nemesis as seen in Suicde Squad as his charcter is so off. But that is just the rule of thumb for all background characters at both companies. once your run one your og title is done time to be trashed and made a joke of. That is the reason. That the new supporting staff at the end of teh last Suicde Squad run were all killed off as he didnt want his babies butchered by some new writer who dosent give a damn about how a charcter used to act as he isnt big enough for people to care (although that kinda makes sens eas he wa skilled in Catwoman). But I belive he had a son out there and this might be that guy

I think this is a little better than having her work at Taco Bell, but not by much.
I just think that WW is a hard character to write. Basicly she's an Amazon warrior whose purpose is to spread peace through the man's world. These two ideas seem by definition to be contraditory to each other. And I don't think she's ever had a strong supporting cast for her to interact with.
Honestly I think the best written WW of late was on the Justice League cartoon.
I thought it was ok, gotta give it a little time to hit its stride.
Her backround info was set up by Bruce Wayne/Waynetech so I have no problem with them accepting it.
I don't know Nemesis that well so I can't say how good or bad he has been written.
My only problem with this is that (I heard) Picoult was brought in for a 5 issue arc - tops. I guess her run could be extended, but she's basically pitched, submitted, and completed a full five issues - more than Heinberg, but not enough IMO to "give it a little time to hit its stride."
You either have me by the first issue or you don't.
I'm not shelling out $3.50 a month for a few months in hopes that it might get better.
On a side note, my wife liked Nemesis as written by Heinberg, but not by Picoult... and she loved the Tenth Circle...

Considering Nemesis is a master of disguise and an uber-spy skilled in misdirection, anyone else think maybe he's acting like this because he knows the truth about Agent Prince and is trying to bait her?
