Runaways #25 - Rated 9 - LOVED IT. Molly was great. 2 things that bugged me though was that Kingpin is back even though over in another book it shows he was kicked out of America. Also, Chase was way to "smart-mouthed". And we got no real idea of how the escaped Iron Man. Great stuff. Best book ever. Anyways, the team asks Kingpin to make it so they can hang out in New York without having SHIELD after them. Kingpin agrees only after they agree to sreal something for them. They do and go about doing it. To bad The Punisher shows up! Great stuff! GO BUY IT! It's worth the $$$
New Excaliburs #18 - Rated 7 - The story of Lord Albion, the sort of evil Captain Britan. Basicly a long while back he got the chance to chhose the path of the Sword or Amulet. He went Sword. Where as regular Cap B's go Amulet. At the end the evil X-Men show up to help him take out Excalibur. All set up issue. It was okay.
Fallen Son: Wolverine - Rated 7 - Wolvie goes to find out if Cap is really dead. Not really sure I'd call it denial, he just wants proof. Thanks to Dr. Strange he sneaks onto the Helicarrier and finds the body. He gets caught by Tony and Hank but is let go so he can spread the word that Steve is really dead. I liked the whole cofidence thing that Wolvie shows when he states that yes he could take out both Tony, Hank, and the the whole Helicarrier if pushed to it.
Ms. Marvel #14 - Rated 8 - After finding Aracne, which I think its BS that Arana took her down, she convinces CArol to help her find her missing parents and daughter. Turns out her parents moved away with thier granddaughter to keep her away from the trouble that Aracne causes due to being an outlaw. She takes bak her daughter and desides to work with Carol etc in exchange for having the charges dropped and to get to keep her daughter. With the deal made it looks like she will be going to Canada with her daughter to join Omega Flight. I liked it well enough. though Im not going to get Omega Flight.
Avengers The Initiave #1 - Rated 9 - Thus we get Superhero boot camp. You learn to use your powers or lose them. I really like Cloud 9. That she is "normal" while the other girls look like teen models, she even comments on it. During a training exercise MVP is shot in the head and killed by another teamate. She has her powers taken away and kicked out. Although it looks like not all is at it seems. Hhhmm I liked it a lot. Just what I need 3 Avengers titles to buy.
MZ vs AoD #2 - Rated 8 - Spidy saves Ash then swongs off to save MJ and May. Ash meets Punisher but Frank is soon killed. Ash then saves Dazzler and they go to see Dr. Strange... and in a wierd turn of events, Ash is killed by Zombie Howard the Duck!!! I'm betting he comes back as "Evil Ash". I liked this issue much better than the 1st. Good stuff!

Loved this....I really liked how he is a alternate Version of Brian himself.

I'm kinda of on the bubble about this one....I really enjoyed the parts with Gauntlet and was surprised they killed MVP like that....I'm thinking he has some form of the super soldier serum in him.....

O GOD!!! Ash saves DAZZLER ONLY TO BE TAKEN DOWN BY HOWARD THE DUCK!!?!?!?!!? Im sorry but with all of the flesh beaing eaten ud think hed never make it away cuz they could justift eating a giant ducks flesh.
Marvel Zombies vs. AOD #2 was so much better than the first one. There was quite a bit of funny stuff in it. Like Wasp flying around with an ear bigger than her, Blob running from the zombies (I betcha he had a stroke before they caught him and still one of my favorite panels in the comic), the punisher talking to Kingpin, Ash saving Dazzler, and the ending kicked arse in that it was so unexpected and funny.
Black Widow eating the poodle face first was hilarious
I forgot about that. There was so much stuff to look at in the background. I'm going to have to reread it just to see what else I forgot about or missed.
Omega Flight #1 - Rated 8 - Good writing, good art. I was just surprised in a 5 issue miniseries they didn't have hardly any of the team in the first issue. No Beta Ray Bill at all, and just brief mentions of U.S. Agent and Arachne. Other than that disapointment, a good read.

In other words, they still have four issues to put together a Caina-dian super-team that's a bunch of citizens of the United States (including the guy who killed the last Alpha Flight and now gets to wear the colours of Caina-da as their "billboard" superhero), an alien steeped in Norse mythos and a few token Caina-dians. Sounds better and better by the moment.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

I didn't realize he still existed. It's nice to see how the whole registration business actually works. At first I thought it was strange that they would build the military base on the site of "the Stamford incident" but it felt better seeing it portrayed realistically with people protesting outside. Interested to see where it goes. 10/10
Is this a mini? I thought it was 5 issue but it didn't say 1 of 5 on the cover the way Omega Flight did. Just curious.
Also, would anyone recomend the Miss Marvel series so far? I see my shop has the 1st 2 hardcovers in the shop and I'm a little intrigued, Especially since Arachne has been in there a bit, and some brood action from the looks of things.

I read the HC's the other day. It's an ok book. Not great, but there ya go. The story with the Brood was going well, the "M-Day" tie-in wasn't all that great and it started going down hill for me at that point.

So you've read it?
It was nice to see the Canadian members of the team get the first issue mostly to themselves, and it looks very much like this'll be a mini-series that puts the team together and hopefully there'll be an ongoing that starts with the team together. A little bit nicer then having to read an ongoing series that starts off with several issues of the team trying to find each other. Also, the fight at the end with Sasquatch taking on the Wrecking Crew was cool, though he really needs Beta Ray Bill to fall from the sky sometime soon. Overall I thought it was a good start and the female prime minister was a funny touch, though none of the parties have women in charge right now. Or is Oeming suggesting he wants the green party running Canada?

It was a mini-series and it got switched to an ongoing a month or two before release. Personally I only wanted to read a few issues, but the first one was a fairly good start. I'm mostly curious to see some of the state lineups, but the new characters introduced could be interesting. I really like the art too for some reason. Anyone know what else Caselli has been doing lately?
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is officially on the bubble now. It's not so much that it's bad, it's just really kinda bland. It feels like the Spider-Man stories I had been reading for years before JMS took over Amazing and while that's nice and all, I'd like something more I suppose. The next arc will make or break the title for me, so whatever happens between now and when One More Day starts will decide for me. For those curious about what happened, turns out evil Uncle Ben wasn't that evil, but he was pretty dead. The guy who looked like him brandishing the gun was Chameleon from the year 2211 (I think) and he fights Spider-Man and the Sandman when Spidey's buddy for the week comes in to save the day. Sandman and his dad buddy up and the story ends.
Heralds of Galactus was interesting. Like Omega Flight, the first half was penciled by Scott Kollins, but for some reason it looks a lot worse. I suppose it was a rush job or something. Anyway, Firelord is hunting down Centurians and lets a few of them go when he sees them rebelling against Ravenous. The second story with Silver Surfer has him taking on Terenerbrous (I know I spelled that one wrong) and Aegis. He tries to hold them off and gets slapped down quickly so instead makes an all or nothing gamble by surfing across the energy wave that imprisoned them and channeling it through himself. They get swallowed by the energy and the Surfer almost dies, but Galactus arrives and restores him. A pretty good story and we learn a little more about the being who appeared during the beginning of the universe created by the Cosmic Consonance.

Yeah, I was hoping for it (The Initiative) to be just a mini, for my wallet's sake, but I was impressed by the art style and the story kept me interested thus far. It had a bit darker tone than I expected, at least towards the end. I'd like to see some of the state line-ups as well. Hopefully Michigan gets someone better than Great Lakes Avengers. Anyway, I'm on board until my opinion changes.
The initiative is pretty awesome. I even saw the young avengers in that camp. I liked MVP, but now that he's dead the Doctor may have found the secret to the Super Soldier Serum. Trauma is a really strange character, while Komoto and Cloud 9 seem cool. I hope this doesn't lead to them joining the young Avengers or something (who knows).
