If you don’t get my LE, I’ll come to your house and
smash your X-Men ‘Clix!
She-Hulk is one of those Marvel characters that has struggled to find a voice. From her early self-titled books, to her stints on the Fantastic Four, to the now “classic” Avengers, to her shamefully written role in the Avengers Dissassembled, it wasn’t until She-Hulk came out in 2004 that she really hit her stride. In She-Hulk vols. 1 & 2, a great deal of attention is paid to She-Hulk’s alter ego – Jennifer Walters, Esq. – so it is altogether fitting and appropriate for Supernova to have her as one of it’s LE’s. How does she stack up? Come on in to find out. We’ve got everyone’s favorite green woman inside!
The Hulk has been around for a long while, so it was probably only a matter of time before a female version of the Hulk arrived on the scene. However, a large part of me has to believe that some of her origin and inspiration lies in this woman:
Mommy?
From the original Star Trek we have Captain Kirk’s kryptonite – the Orion Slave Woman. It is said that no human man can resist her charms. The same is true of She-Hulk. Is this woman She-Hulk’s “mom”? Only Stan Lee and Big John Buscema can say for sure, but I’m thinking the answer is “yes”.
Sculpturally, the new She-Hulk is a huge step up from the walleyed amorphous green blob that was churned out in Clobberin’ Time.
She looks great! But how about her dials?

LE Jennifer Walters, Esquire’s Gains vs. Experienced She-Hulk
Weighing in at 20 points less than the Experienced version, Jennifer adds one click of Stealth and three of Flurry to her speed track. Offensively the only real new feature is a pair of late dial Quake clicks. Jennifer also gets a bump to her defensive values, garnering a couple of 17 defenses to go along with two extra clicks of Invulnerable. Oddly enough, on her second click she gets one shot of Defend and later, one of Combat reflexes. The biggest change, however, is printed right on her base. Just like her cousin before her (U Hulk – CM), She-Hulk has finally attained wildcard status thanks to the Spider-Man Ally TA.
LE Jennifer Walters, Esquire’s Losses vs. Experienced She-Hulk
Her 20 point reduction does not come without cost, though. Aside from dropping the eminently abuseable Fantastic Four TA, the biggest loss Ms. Walters endures is the reduction of her charge clicks from five all the way down to one. She also sheds the Experienced She-Hulk’s lone click of four (4) damage. By comparison, other subtractions seem rather mild, if not benign, and include dropping one click of Super Strength, eliminating mid-dial Willpower, and cutting one click of nine (9) attack and one click of Perplex.
Neutral Dial Tinkering
Really none whatsoever to report. Everything that happens to Jadielocks is either positive or negative.
Cards That Work
Walters has a great deal to offer for a relatively modestly costed grounded brick, and due to that fact, there really aren’t that many feats that make sense for her. A couple do leap to mind, and Nanoarmor leaps the highest. Jen is a grounded brick and as such will most likely go after other bricks in close combat. She gets and extra lease on life by being able to ignore the damage from objects used by her foes courtesy of this feat. Movethrough will also help her get where she wants to go on her sole Charge click, but it is because she has only one Charge click that the payoff on this feat for it’s cost is somewhat diminished. For those inclined to push, Nanonbots could be a good call. One quick push puts Jennifer on her second, “regular human” click. At that point, having a damage value of one (1) she can Nanobot back to her fist click. Taking advantage of the new stuff, BPRD’s And Stay Down! Is a fun way to add in a little extra damage dealing potential on a lucky roll. But I would be more comfortable adding this one to her if she had some Close Combat Expert on her Super Strength clicks so that she’d have enhanced damage dealing potential without an object to begin with.
If ol_Dut had to Choose
LE Jennifer Walters, Esquire vs. Experienced She-Hulk? While the Experienced She-Hulk is interesting and probably has a great sense of humor, she has a relatively bloated point cost for what she delivers. If one really needs a FF She-Hulk, at 110 points the Clobberin’ Time version is better. However, at 107 points, I’ll take the LE Jennifer Walters, Esq. every time and here’s why. First and foremost, for her points she’s a pretty good figure. With nine (9) clicks of life and a nine (9) or better attack for just over half of her dial, Jennifer is a very capable secondary fighter.
Several folks I know are jazzed about this LE for her freaky second click that is reminiscent of the Scarlet Witch’s spell that made sure that no one who wished She-Hulk harm could recognize her as Jennifer Walters. In excited voices they’re insistent that this will be invaluable in healing wounded teammates. She just saunters up nest to the injured party, and Voila! A 14 defense; every medic’s dream come true! However, I don’t think it’ll really play out that way very often.
More likely, Jen will be the second one into the fight, and by the time the fearless leader is in need of some healing, Jennifer is going to be beyond her magical second click. Perhaps a better plan would be for her to push onto that click in order to help the team with her Perplex early in the game. Assuming she connects with her first attack, and assuming she’s swinging away with a heavy object, it’s not outside the realm of possibilities that after one push, her opponent will be vanquished and she’ll be Stealthed with an advantageous line of sight to aid her team with Perplex. Moving her around the field will help her to see who she needs to se and will also enable her to be pushed onto her third click so that she can get back into the fight when she needs to do so. Not nearly as entertaining as doing the 14 Defend/Medic trick, but probably more realistic.
And lastly, in keeping with the game’s newest mid-ranged grounded brick, Hellboy, that wildcard TA of hers is too tempting to ignore. With it, she can have the best of all worlds. She can have FF when she wants it. Or Kabuki. Or Mystic. Or Danger Girl. Or anything else for that matter. All other enhancements aside, it’s that TA that really seals the deal in making the LE Jennifer Walters, Esq. the figure that’s going to see a ton of play time (along with the Rookie), while the Experienced and the Vet She-Hulk sit in a tacklebox waiting for a turn that will never come.
Quick and Dirty Price Tag
Just because no one can resist her is no reason to believe that Jennifer is an expensive acquisition. In fact, there doesn’t seem to be a need to spend any more than $5 to $10 to get her delivered to your door.
That does it for this week. Nest week? Turnabout being fair play, we’ve got everyone’s favorite green man (err, android), Victor Shade! Thanks for reading!
I'd certainly like to have the LE as an option for (alt)Fantastic Four teams.
The second click is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned: strategically, you can feat her up so that she push-pounces right past it...and defensively, it's rare that the grounded bricks are being targetted for only 3 damage (while Invulnerability has not already been outwitted.)
The wild card TA, and the low cost (compared to previous experienced and CT Vet versions) makes this piece a winner in my book.
Great review, but the one thing no one has been able to answer is why is the She-Hulk listed as Jennifer Walters' Archenemy? Take a look at the WK site - that's where I first saw it.

On the other hand, since it's there, savvy players will probably knock her onto it on purpose.
Lots of figs do 3 damage.

This seems to be an error as I have also seen it happen with many other figures that are obviously not archenemies.
I got followship for the first time last week which garnered me this awesome LE. I love this figure, it is tons of fun to play. Hopefully I will get the BPRD set this weekend and get to play Hellboy and her on a Wildcard abuse team.

From the original Star Trek we have Captain Kirk’s kryptonite – the Orion Slave Woman. It is said that no human man can resist her charms.
Ah, yes, but the one you have pictured is Captain *Pike's* kryptonite. Played by Susan Oliver, and inexplicably Pike managed to repeatedly resist her charms (clearly the man was gay). Captain Kirk's green kryptonite was played by Yvonne Craig. Who, of course, also played Batgirl, which in an odd coincidence makes this whole tangent somehow HeroClix relevant. And Kirk also amazingly managed to resist her. Since Kirk repeatedly demonstrated he wasn't gay, he must have been a disciple of the "don't boink anyone crazier than you" rule.
As for all the banter about inviting She-Hulk home, need I remind anyone of a certain Mad TV skit about Suzanne Somers and her Thigh Master? Be very careful what you wish for, guys.

Egads, no lack of truth there. At first glance I thought they had made a Clix figure for the Cerebus parody character "Woman-Thing".
I love her. She's great if you're playing an Inhumans/FF team, because she can give Lockjaw a 19 defense with the alt FF and Sue Storm. Plus you click her past that defend and BAM! Flurry w/ 3 damage and SS!

True, but i couldn't find a picture of Yvonne as an Orion Slave Woman that I liked - mostly just this one, which has her in a very Catwomany pose:
Lots of very nice Batgirl pics though . Anyway, that's why I went with the Vina pic.
Man, that's a pretty sexy photo you found of Jen busting through the brick wall!
I have to agree with your assessment. Jennifer is a great figure, and even though the second click won't come into play very often, it still is a nice little feature that adds some flavor.
Great review!
