Is there anything official on when a roll should be rerolled (it left the playing area, it's a leaner, etc) or is it a judge call?
Probably it'd be a good thing to go over this ahead of time with my judge, huh? Any suggestions?
Here are some that've come up:
1. A die hits the opponent's shirt and bounces off but lands flat on the board.
2. A die falls on the table next to the board or an adjacent board flat.
3. A die is flat, but on a base.
4. A die slips prematurely.
And of course if it falls on the floor we've been told to reroll both. But sometimes it gets tricky.
My judge rules that as long as it's flat it counts, so if it bounces off something and lands flat it's good. If it is a "leaner" you re roll that die and if one goes off the table and hits the floor, you re roll both. I hope this helps.
Both dice have to be rolled at the same time. Convention around here seems to be that as long as it's flat, it's good, as long as it stays off the floor. If it's not flat, it only counts if you can balance a die on top without it falling off.
These are the reasons I'd tell a player to re-roll, either dice falls off the table, both dice are not rolled at the same time, one or both dice are setting up on the edge (like a diamond) or if a player rolled while his opponent wasn't looking, his opponent questions it and there where no witnesses of the dice roll.
Let me find the strength to cut back on this game!
