Only a couple of threads came up when I searched this which didn't answer my question.
If I assign Mercenary to a figure with no TA and choose Sinister Syndicate as my TA. Can the SS figure also use the Mercenary figures AV when they are adjacent? or is it only the Mercenary that can use the SS figures AV?
I think the SinSyn fig can use the Merc's AV. With the Mercenary feat, you gave the Merc'ed character the SinSyn TA (when adjacent to a higher point value SinSyn fig), so I don't see why he couldn't use it normally while being adjacent to a higher point value SinSyn fig.

This is correct.
As long as the Merc is adjacent to a friendly figure with the SinSyn TA that is of a higher point value, he can share his own A/V, or borrow someone else's, or be any link in an A/V-sharing chain.
slightly different topic:
it says 25 points minus 5 for each TA-ed teammate (min of 10 points) so if its just one, do you still get the 5 point discount?
meaning it never costs 25?

It can cost 25 points if you want to be able to choose different TAs for each game.
Say you have a team of
3 Masters of Evil
2 Mystics
1 Batman Ally
1 JSA
...and one Mercenary. Depending on what you pay for the Mercenary feat, you can choose different TAs:
for 10 points, you can choose only Masters of Evil
for 15 points, you can choose only Mystics
for 20 points, you can choose either Batman Ally or JSA
...or you could pay 25 points and choose what TA the Mercenary will copy at the start of each game.

Same thing with Defenders/JSA. The Merc uses the TA the same way that a WC would... they just can't change the TA during the game.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

Yep!
It is actually less confusing this way fopr most people than saying it is 20 points, -5 for each TA'd teammate beyond the first
But as I pointed out above, you can still choose to pay the full 25 points for increased flexibility.
Actually, in your example, you could pay 20 for it and gain access to any of them, I believe.
I can't cite it from work, but I think nbperp confirmed on the WK forums (maybe judges forum?) that if you pay the higher cost between 2 TAs, you can switch between either of them for different games in the same tournament (but not within the SAME game). The example he was giving was for 2 of one TA (15 points for the feat) and 3 of another TA (10 points for the feat).... he said if you pay 15 points for it, you can use either TA, and you could declair it at the beginning of the game (similar to when you would declair TB).

As I recall, he stated that if you choose to pay a discount price for the feat (anything less than 25 points), you would have to stick to a team that gives that particular discount. So in the example I posted above:
Quote
3 Masters of Evil
2 Mystics
1 Batman Ally
1 JSA
Paying 20 points mean you can onlycopy JSA in all games, paying 15 points mean you can choose either Mystics or Batman Ally (but not JSA or MoE) at the start of the game, and paying 10 points mean you can only copy MoE.
If the force also included say 4 Avengers I suppose you could choose between Avengers and MoE at the 10 point level though...
Oh well, I guess we both have some digging to do in the WK forums...

You need to commit to the cost of Mercenary as you construct your force, though you do not need to select a team ability until the game begins. Let’s say you build a team with a non-TA character, one Batman Ally, one Superman Ally, and 2 Mystics, you can choose to put Mercenary on the non-TA character as:
• A 15 point cost – this would require that when you declared the Mercenary’s team ability at the start of the game, you would have to select Mystics as that is the only team available for that cost.
• A 20 point cost – this would require that when you declared the Mercenary’s team ability at the start of the game, you could select either Batman Ally or Superman Ally – you would not be able to select Mystics
• A 25 point cost – this would allow you to choose any of the three team abilities at the start of the game, but you would not get any point bonus for having members of the team on your force.

Seems my recollection was correct...
Thanks for the help on that. I wasn't absolutely sure (as it's been more than a few weeks) and I'm not going to be home for around a half hour or more... thanks for saving me the time and effort
