At any time, as a free action, this character may increase by 1 the damage value of any friendly character(s) that is both making a ranged combat attack and adjacent to this character
Laser Turret does not give any characters a free action, instead the object is given a free action. Since an object is not a character, no enhancement allowed.
There was a Robocop III you know (so don't be racist)
Not only does Enhancement only affect characters, a character occupying the same square as an object is not adjacent to it.
Yes it is.
A figure can use Nanobots on an object that occupies the same square as the character, and Nanobots is quite clear that the object has to be in an adjacent square. So the square a figure occupies is adjacent to said figure.
At least, that's how I interpret what has been stated on the matter on the WK Judges forum.

That's right. It was decided on right around when Nanobots came out, and it is currently in one of the FAQ or Erratas.
On a side note, the Laser Turret doesn't get a bonus or benefit from much of anything... no PC, no perplex, no Enhancement/SHEILD/Hydra. It's a free shot... isn't that enough?
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
