Some things have come to light (from too many sources to count actually) that leaving feedback is becoming an issue. Especially with traders having to ask repeatedly for their earned feedback. This is not fair.
1) If you make a sale, you leave feedback when you get their payment, not a week, 2 weeks, or ever later.
2) If you are making a trade where one party has to send first, you leave feedback when you receive what you are supposed to. Not before, and not after you wait and see what feedback someone else leaves you.
As of late, our Trade Forums are beginning to slide downhill. I refuse to let that happen without a fight.
The iTrader system is there for a reason. Its integrity is not to be compromised. Some of you may think these things trivial, but its part of the back bone of the system, as well as a common courtesy to the other traders.
Thank you guys, especially the ones working hard to keep it going strong!
What, am I normal or not?
Am I crazier than other patients?
Right, I've done everything right.
So where's the karma, doc? I've lost my patience.
I had that happen in a couple of deals but never worried about it on the Realms (except for the individual we all know I'd like to boot in the head)...whoops, and just realized I made a sale a few days ago and never rep'd the person...OH CARP!!!

What's the statute of limitations on requesting Feedback from trades?
Hmmmm, I would say none, as long as you both remember the trade well enough to feel comfortable leaving the feedback.
Thats part of the problem. Noone should have to wait so long that the other party can't remember the trade. Its really rude. Of course, I'm not pointing any fingers, I'm just making a point.

It happens sometimes, a slip of memory is normal. But when you drag your heels after someone has repeatedly asked you for your rightly deserved feedback, then you're on thw wrong side of the tracks buddy. This has been happening waaaayy too much here and its high time it stopped.
[/Steps off of soapbox] Thanks for listening.

I say get right back up on that soapbox and keep preaching, sister. I know there are at least 4 or 5 trades from which I've never received feedback. It may seem trivial to some, but the whole point of the system is to help those of us who frequent this area to have some idea of who we are dealing with on trades. Plus it can really help newcomers to the trading grounds so they learn the proper etiquette from the "greybeards" here.

With all due repect to you, Shel, I have to disagree with these two.
I very rarely send first these days, but I will not leave feedback for the other trader until I know he or she has received my end of the trade and is happy with the full transaction.
I'm certainly not waiting for their feedback first, but I am waiting to make sure they've received what they were owed and that they are satisfied with it. Just my opinion and many may disagree.

You're right that your opinion and you are entitled to it. Whether they are satisified with the trade or not, you received their items first. If they were in good condition, then they deserve the feedback, whether they are happy with your end or not. They came through on their end.
Though, I can understand where you're coming from and I'm sure in most cases that its not a problem, so long as you inform the other trader of your policy on that beforehand. Knowing all of the angles and whats is expected of a trade beforehand is key to a successful trade. Knowing is half the battle. Yo Joe!
Back on s erious side, it happens all too often that someone does something like that and then forgets the other person. Not saying that you would do that, since I'm very confident that you are an A+ trader. Some people lately are either being lazy or just not even bothering anymore.

I, in fact, do so, so I guess we are in agreement!
Someone sends first. You send. You leave + feedback. Now one of the following happens:
DC shows it was delivered. PErson claims they didn't get it.
Person says figure x is missing.
Person says figures are substandard because of this or that reason.
Now you try and work something out but they will not be satisfied with anything you feel is reasonable. They are becoming beligerent and you have to get a mod involved. A solution comes about that both find acceptable but both are upset by the transaction. 2nd trader sure does not feel a positive trade has happened and now 1st trader doesn't either..
Feedback, I feel, is a complete transaction, not just one peice.. Positive feedback should reflect one thing- Base on the trade how would you feel about doing it again with the person..
Just one man's O pin yon..
Ok its all coming down to me wanting just one more:
Again, I'm bringing this back up. The astounding number of people who just disregard feedback is, well, astounding. Does people really need to go behind someone and make sure they follow the rules?
When it gets to a point where people feel that they need to go to mods because other traders aren't being bad per se, but seriously slacking off, you guys need to be ashamed of yourselves and I'm sure you know who you are.
I may be a mom, but I'm not yours. I volunteer to this site to help out the community which I love. I'm tiring of the people who step on that community and the work that we've all put into it. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to leave feedback? This shouldn't even be an issue, period, let alone what big issue it is!

Sometimes I dont leave feedback if it has been our 10th or so trade. To me they are just as good as the were the last 8 times I left them feedback, so I stop singing their praises after awhile. They usually do the same for me. My feedback score would be the same, but 30 or 40 higher in total number if all the same traders I have worked with left feedback for me ever single time.
I know what you are saying, though. If the traders want it left they might have to ask for it to be left. Sometimes it gets overlooked! Sometimes its just laziness.
I asked a question and I am not sure if it directly related to feedback but It has a big part so I was wondering if someone would answer as nothing ever got said.
If you sell an item to someone with a higher feedback then you, do you have to send the figure before they pay?
I only ask as when I was looking to sell stuff on the Realms, the sale thread said all rules are basically the same as on the trade threas.
Sorry if this is the wrong place/thread, but I was very interested to know.
