with the addition of 'special powers' (lord i wanna say white powers but we won't go there.....) heroclix looks more like horrorclix than ever before. i have been wanting to incorporate some horrorclix (like my alien queen...sweeet) with my heroclix for some home games. anyone have any advice on what the best way to combine the two would be? the part i can't exactly figure out the best way to incorporate victims. i hate to leave them out as so many horroclix powers are dependent on number of victims slayed by the horroclix figure.
should i leave victims out?
should i fully incorporate them into the game? should heroclix be allowed to rescue victims or should that be left only to horrorclix figures?
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints, the sinners are much more fun.
Honestly I can't comment here as I've not played much Horrorclix, but I'd say add victims and leave them exclusively to the Horrorclix. I can tell you this much though... we did a just-for-fun match with Heroclix figures versus Cthulu, and I think the Heroclix lost one figure over the course of the scenario... and Cthulu even had more minions than just his servant pogs. I'm currently of the opinion that even though the attack/defensive stats are competitive with Heroclix, the powers (and movement) just don't seem up to par.
However, don't let the power differences keep you from playing the two together. By all means, have fun!
At the beginning of the game, Victims are placed on the map similar to objects (3 per player). It does not cost anything to recruit these characters (think of them as extra objects). Victims can be moved normally, up to their printed speed value; they are given a move action (and action token) to do so.
Characters that are adjacent to Victims must roll for breakaway.
Victims can be captured/released. Give a character a power action when adjacent to a Victim; that character gains a +2 to its defense value when it is holding the Victim. It may not carry any other characters or pick up objects while it is holding a Victim. While holding a Victim, modify the character's printed speed value and range by half.
A character adjacent to an opposing character holding a Victim can also be given a power action to roll a d6 to attempt to free the Victim. On the result of 4-6, the Victim must be placed in a square adjacent to the character that captured it.
A Victim is KO'd when it takes pushing damage from being given 2 action tokens, is targeted by a combat action (the attack succeeds automatically) or power that deals damage, or when a character that captured it is dealt damage from a successful attack.
No points are scored for KO'd victims, but the character that does KO a Victim takes a click of penetrating damage.
