For a keyword-theme team, all members of your team must have the same keyword.
So, if you Mind Control a piece that does not share a keyword with your team, do you lose all the benefits of having a keyword-theme team until the action is over? (ie, do you lose the ability to make the free probability control or are now suddenly affected by BFC's?).

Interesting one to consider.
No, because he was orinally not on your team and will go back at the end of the action.
Now the war of lights begins...... A black Lantern will rise.... Who will it be? Find out in Green Lantern 2009

Ditto. A figure being friendly to you does NOT put it on your team, therefore, you don't lose the theme.
I would imagine it would be the same thing if you entered a co-op game... if you have a different theme than your partner, you would still get your theme bonus because YOUR team build is only your figures.... the others are just friendly to you.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

where does it say they dont become part of your team
You get theme bonus' when you make your team and begin the game. If it worked that way with mind control then you could make the arguement that once one of those figures is KO'd you also would lose the bonus since they are no longer part of the team. But, again, you don't lose the bonus.
aaaahhh but since it doesnt say that it doesnt.....its safe to say that they are
No, it isn't.
From the PAC (LoSH):
MIND CONTROL (OPTIONAL): Give this character a power action; it makes a close combat or ranged combat attack as a free action. A successful attack deals no damage; instead, the target becomes friendly to your force and opposing to your opponent’s force, and any of the target’s canceled powers return until it returns to its owner’s force. Each target...
No where does it say that character actually joins your force. Just because a character is friendly does not automatically make it part of your force. For example, LoSH (page 12):
Friendly and Opposing Charact ers
Friendly characters are characters controlled by you or an allied teammate. Opposing characters are characters controlled by an opponent. Friendly and opposing status can change during the course of the game.
So since it doesn't actually say that the ally's friendly characters are not part of my force, does that mean that they are? Clearly not, as anyone who as ever played team games can tell you (I control my characters, my ally control his. We may help each other out towards a common goal, but my force is still my force as his is still his force.).
Even, by some convoluted stroke of logic, the character actually did become part of your force, it wouldn't matter. The check for theme bonuses occurs at the start of the game (technically right after force construction and right before the map selection roll, since theme gain the bonus to the die roll). If at any point during the game the theme team would no longer meet the requirements (say in a 300 point game, only two characters are left), it is still a theme team and can still use that PC (if it hasn't already) and can still ignore the BFC. So at this point, the addition of a new character (no matter how it came about) would not matter.

This would have been an issue long before now. You wouldn't be able to Mind Control any figure that was an Archenemy of one of your figures (illegal team build!) or even any figure that would bring your team point total over the maximum build (illegal team build!).
Since it hasn't been a problem before, I don't see why it would suddenly be so now.
TRADES. eBay.
An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.

Well, the rulebook also doesn't say that you can click your opponent's figure for being purple, either..... but you can't just for that.

Thanks. I was trying to make a far-out example that the rulebook doesn't forbid like swapping out a figure for Superman or tossing Superman on your team half way in the battle, but both of those would change your team build, which is restricted. This was the first thing I could think of that was an extreme example of something that could never happen, but the rulebook doesn't forbid it LOL!

It wont matter even if they join your team. For instance, If you have a 300 point team then you have to have at least three characters with the same keyword. So lets say you do, then you get the bounus. Any other characters besides those three dont have to have the same keyword since you already meet the requirment. If you mind control someone without the keyword, then oh well, you still have those orginal three that do. See what i mean?

Not really. You must have at least 3 characters with the keyword, true, but all characters must have the keyword. If you have a 5 figure team, and two of them don't have the same as the other three, you're outta luck.
From the LoSH rule book, page 6:
When all characters on a force share a single common keyword among the keywords listed on their character cards and the force consists of at least three or more characters and one character for each 100 points (or fraction thereof) in the build total, the force is a themed team. Themed teams receive multiple benefits:
This was the point that some of the posters were trying to argue; that not everyone on the team met the requirements if you MC'd a character without the same keyword. This isn't actually the case (as seen by other posts), but that is where they were coming from.
