Apples or Oranges?
Seriously, they are two very different figures with not much in common, so it would be nice to have a more specific question than "who's better?"

who do you think'for their points is more worth it"?
Personally I really enjoy fielding V. Sinestro. But it is according to what type of team you are trying to build. I just like him because of a starting click with Running Shot, Outwit, 4 damage, and 18D with Invulnerability.

Still a very vague question, considering the great difference in points.
Sinestro is good for fronting a team, with his long range strike potential and Outwit. Unfortunately, this also makes him a big target.
Super-Nova is more of a secondary attacker, who can make HSS hit-n-runs while your other figures engage the enemy. Can't really front a team on his own, but is cheap enough not to have to.
As I said, they are two very different figures and hard to compare on a point-for-point basis... especially since you don't know what the 50 point difference will be spent on.
It really depends on the pieces around them. With Sinestro you are locked into a tentpole with secondary support. With SuperNova you can fit another primary attacker and support pieces. It all depends on your play style. Personally, I like Supernova becasue I don't like investing too much in a single piece that could get taken out quickly.

If you didn't plan on having another huge attacker or damage dealer, I would go with Sinestro. Then give him plenty of support figures like the usuals. Dr. Mid-Nite for healing, Dream Girl for Prob Control, Batman(JL) for Outwit and a secondary attacker. How about this...
V. Sinestro 146
+ Protected 8
Batman 75
+Armor Piercing 10
V. Dr. Mid-Nite 58
Dream Girl 50
Jean Grey 50(Danger Room)
Total 397
Sinestro is your main attacker. Batman is a Stealthy seconary attacker, his special power is amazing. Plus he gives you a second first click Outwit. Dr. Mid-Nite is a decent secondary attacker, but can heal Sinestro when he gets damaged. Dream Girl can copy Batman for Stealthed Prob Control. And Jean Grey is a cheap TKer, so that you can deal with your opponents Stealth and such.
in 400 points, I see no need to choose if you like them both. you have 150 points left for other attackers and support figures, and it can be real fun to force people to choose between going after Sinestro and Super-Nova - they're both big threats, but each in a different way.
