At the start of an action, if Box is in hindering terrain he is a giant for the entire action. If he leaves hindering terrain, he remains a giant until the action is over. If he enters hindering terrain mid action, he does not become a giant until the action is over.
Which is nice because you only get 1/2 movement instead of 1/4.
Box is a flier, so he ignores hindering terrain when moving regardless of whether he is a Giant or not.
And if he gets Earthbound (Crosswinds, Swingline) he won't be a Giant anymore either.

Ah...my bad...top of head recollection...you know...that old chestnut.

Actually, is it clearly defined somewhere that EB would override his (or any other for that matter) special power. Where do special powers fall in the heirarchy of what trumps what in the game?
Yeah, I could look up the name, but since no one else in this thread did.... deal with it!
BoT
I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries....now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.
*Sigh* This is why I'm happy that we no longer win anything at Pre-Release. I know these types of questions will come up. And no matter what was ruled on the WK Forums, the judge will always rule in favor of his local players. I really don't mind the ignorance at that venue - its kinda funny when you explain to a player that a clix can use toughness when someone masterminds damage to him. What I hate is that the judge doesn't know the rules, nor cares to learn them, nor cares to look them up.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just cheezed that I'm paying attention to all these rules when I know that the judge still doesn't know anything since before the LoSH set came out.

I have no idea if there has been a statement of what trumps what in the game when special powers are involved. However, looking at the PAC and Box's character card makes it look simple:
Quote
MASS ABSORPTION: When Box occupies hindering terrain, he has the damage symbol.
Quote
EARTHBOUND This character has the speed mode instead of its printed speed mode and the damage mode if it has the damage mode. If this character is soaring when it gains Earthbound, deal it 1 damage. This power can’t be countered.
Both use the phrase "has the damage mode/symbol", so I would think Earthbound overrides the SP.

also if he was a giant in hindering he still has full movement
Heroclix Fantasy League - Spiderman and his amazing friends - Season 1 marvel division regular season division winner Heralds of Galactus- Season 3 Marvel pennant runners up
Season 4 X-Men (Morrison Era)
also if he was a giant in hindering he still has full movement
Not if he uses Charge, which is what is being discussed.
Harpua's original point was that he would only halve his movement once (for using Charge) not twice (for using Charge and for being in hindering terrain).

OK, so if I TK him while he's not a Giant, into hindering terrain, he becomes a giant. I charge out of the hindering, he's still a giant, into more hindering, and smack someone (with an object) and he's stays a giant?
Is that correct?
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........

According to his SP that would be correct. And when you attack you have a 2 "range" for close combat.
And here it sounded so cut and dry: occupying hindering = becoming a giant
I never would have ruled it the way G.D. intended it. Ugh.
Good thing I saw this thread. I will have to make a general announcement at Friday's tournament since, once again, the wording of the the card does not match the ruling. :cross-eye
Thanks for the question irweasel.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
