I'm working on building Heroclix rosters for every Avengers team, from issue 1 through the current New Avengers stories.
Issue 300, which I own, contains a list of all Avengers, and numbers which issues they appeared in. So I'm good through 300. My collection stops in the early 300's, and doesn't pick up again until almost issue 500. So I've got about a 200 issue gap.
Does anyone know of any websites that reliably chart the lineups through these issues?
Is there another issue, like 300, that charts the characters appearances AFTER that issue?
Anybody wanna read 200 issues and tell me the rosters as you go?
Thanks for any help. Even the roster of a single issue that I don't have would be great. I promise once I'm done I'll make this file available to anyone who wants it. I have lists with just the rosters, plus the teams I've created, so you could either make your own team or use one of mine. I've consolidated all of these clix into one Plano box, and now I can field almost 150 teams with just the figures in that box and a handful of feat cards.

Wow, that's pretty impressive. You'll get a bit stuck at #300 though, it brings in one of the least impressive line ups in Avengers history (hey, it only lasted 5 issues though). It included Gilgamesh, not currently in Heroclix form.
Gilgamesh is one of the few remaining official Avengers yet to be made (Spider-Woman, Triathalon and Living Lightning come to mind as well as non-members like Silverclaw).
I hope this will help you somehow... Avengers cover shots at GCD
You can go through all the covers and see who you can spot.
It's not the best solution but my only suggestion. Good Luck

That was a wierd team. Cap in his black and red uniform, Gilgamesh, and Reed and Sue Richards. Crazy.
I would need to sub for Gilgamesh, and was thinking of using Ares, but I haven't given it much thought yet. So far I've built 145 teams through issue #245. So ol' Gil is coming up soon.
The next fun task will be playing all of these teams. So far I've played with teams 1-4 online, and I'm 3 & 1! Not too shabby for some old school Avengers. Giant Man rocks.

The problem is that for the next set of rosters until about the time of Onslaught, the "official roster" was a bit hazy to figure as there were a fair number of characters that were "hanger-on's" or came and went as the writers would remember them (e.g. - Magdalene). Setting parameters for what you consider a roster might be handy for you on that.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

Hey, they have an Avengers cd-rom going through the whole history, that would help.
So are you playing all of the teams? That oughta be fun. Loved the era in the late 70s best. Beast, Iron Man, Wasp, Vision, Cap were official. Sometimes Ms. Marvel replaced Scarlet Witch for a bit. Wonder Man and Falcon became official Avengers. Thor, Yellowjacket, Jocasta, Quicksilver and Hawkeye hung around quite a bit.
Playing the Avengers are a hoot, your idea is awesome.

I'm keeping things fast and loose. I don't have all of 1-300 (just about all of 150-300 though), so I can't really confirm the status given the the roster in 300. Single issue appearances don't bother me, and frequent roster changes are no big deal. Just gives me more teams to build. I'm a shameless fanboy.

Thanks for reminding me to put that on my Christmas list again.

I grew up reading some of those same lineups. My favorite rosters have about 10 people on them, and run between 800-1200 points. But they're teh awsum!! Some of the lineups have 3 front-loaded perplexers. I can't wait to try those. (Vision, Dr Hank Pym, V DR Beast)
Ouchmaker, thanks for the link. I'll add some of the newer issues into my spreadsheet and see how things work out. Rep for the link!

That's HUGE Quebster! With a few small holes, that gets me from 300 to nearly 400, plus adds a bunch of WCA issues after I stopped collecting. I haven't even begun to build WCA teams yet. Yay, more fun work to do!
Thanks!!

Hey, does anyone know, Quebbster's list shows a Thor II for issues 343, 344, 345, 346, 347. Looking at the comic covers, it looks like the same Thor, but with a beard. Anyone know what gives?

I think it's Eric Masterson, later to be known as Thunderstrike - according to the link Ouchmaker provided, he joined in Avengers #343.
This is the link I was going to send you. It is a great list. I am a BIG fan of Avengers also. I use all kinds of different teams all the time. I can't wait for more to come. Of course, the line-ups for issues 300 - 400 were terrible. The writing was terrible, etc, etc. I'm glad we have 2 Avengers books now.
Okay. I'll assume that's Eric M and use the regular SN Thor figures for now. Wiki says Eric eventually separates from Thor and gets a mace from Odin that transforms him into Thunderstrike, so I'll watch for Thunderstrike to appear later. Cuz, ya know, I just can't wait to use that figure. :P

Or, how about using thunderstrike from the avengers set?
