CD #21 - Rated 7 - A timer ont eh cuffs holding Piper and dead Trickster together starts counting down. Uh oh. Piper is sad at Tricksters lose. Todd and crew watch Batman Beyond and get attacked by another Monitor sent to get Bob. They flee. Holly and Harley (who are getting thier own series) wander out of the Furies training compund and find a cave. Meanwhile, Brother Eye launches his plans followed by a bunch of fresh OMACs. This issue was surprising good. I guess because it felt the plot was actually moving. And Holly/Harley were great.
JSA #11 - Rated 8 - KC Supes tells everyone he is sure his planet is gone so they let him stay. PG is sad about her cousins death but KC Supes and her decide to be family. They all go and stop some guys from attackingJudomaster who wont talk to anyone. Plus Mr. America and the cops find a body of some hero... Halo maybe? I really couldn't tell.
JLA #15 - Rated 8 - Firestorm shows up and saves the day. Both sides get into a huge fight but the heroes win it of course. Amanda WAller shows up with her people and take the villians away. FS is told he is apart of the team and isn't allowed to decline. And could Red Tornado PLEASE keep a body for more than 2 issues?
Supergirl #24 - Rated 6 - Filler. Sueprgirl gets shown up by Clark but in doing so they catch a glimps of Krypton back inthe past or something. Kara remembes more of her like with her parents etc. It;sa ll sweet and stuff. blah blah. Sigh.

It was Chrona, he was killed two issues ago by someone who claimed to be a god.
Who wants to bet that KC Superman is a part of Ray Palmer's army? Thats what the symbol on his hand on the poster means.

As The BoyBlunder said, it was Chroma's body they found. His death was in an earlier issue and the new Mr. America mentions it during his narration. The new Judomaster seems interesting, but I'll need to read more about her before I can make a final judgement.
Not sure where they're going with KC Supes, but I'm enjoying the ride so far.
My only nitpick is I hate when they "introduce" new villains and have them around for about three total panels in the book. I know they weren't important to the story, but let's see a little more action. I love new villains.

Yeah, Firestorm was the ace in the hole that Superman and Black Lightning had when they stormed the area. I guess the villains stopped monitoring after Supes and BL arrived so they didn't notice Firestorm approach. Good fight ensues and heroes win. Setting up Amanda Waller as the antagonist of the JLA again is interesting.
Pretty decent storyline. I'm going to continue reading this and see how McDuffie does with some other arcs.

So basically a bunch of supersmart villains lost because they didn't bother to figure Superman might have called in some backup?
Please.
As for the Cheetah versus Dr. Light thing, she's a mass-murdering cannibal for crying out loud. Seems a bit hypocritical to get upset bya little rape.
Glad I dropped this last issue.

Well, in all fairness - who knows? The baddies could have been monitoring the JSA. I can see where Firestorm Blindsided them - the IL did leave him for dead a few months back. The last we saw him, he was on an IV in the hospital.

Hoo-ray for pointless PC!
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Women act pretty strongly whenever the rape subject comes up, and Cheetah seemed to have some anger towards Dr. Light from the previous issue. Also, a villain being a hypocrite doesn't really bother me that much.
I thought the issue was a little rushed as Firestorm was already there from page one, but it was nice to see that Lex seemed to plan the loss. His little comment to Superman makes me think this "loss" is just what he wanted to happen. I think that'd explain how badly the villains were stomped.

While I agree it did seem incongruent to the character... Cheetah is a female thus might have issues with that sort of thing. There are plenty of stories of criminals that had something that they stood up for.... very few people are completely evil.
Disclaimer: I recently watched a few Star Trek TNG, etc episodes so maybe the pacifisim/pc is soaking in?
Yes, but you're a surrealist! I'm a normal guy!
Gil Zoo Crew or bust!
So say we all. Tho, one could point out a few villians in comics who do seem to be very near if not totally completely evil, we'll leave that be for now.

Hypocritical, maybe. But speaking as someone who used to be married to a social worker who did counseling for victims of that? It's a pretty darn accurate reaction. And, more to the point, in line with the character being hypocritical since she objects to Dr. Light joining the ILU in the JLA Wedding Special when they're picking out members (and Lex does call her on the hypocrisy in that issue). And actually, though she does "approve" him joining, she takes his picture and gets a "cat that just ate the canary" grin. So you KNOW she's gonna be trying to ice him at a convenient opportunity.
As far as Firestorm goes... Lex typically does have his blinders on, and last he checked, Firestorm was still laid up in the hospital. So he wants to do the Big Finish on Supes and get his final revenge and... oops!
I just wish JLA came out before Salvation Run #1, though... much like I wish those Countdown issues with Supertwit-Prime were done after GL #25. Ah well.
Also, Countdown: Arena #1 was a solid... 5. Pretty meh, and sadly predictable.

Reason: Remembered a bit more about that scene in the JLA Wedding special. :)

I believe the new female judomaster showed up in BoP, right before the BoP/Secret Six story crossover.
