Yes, there are a few. In unrestricted play, there's Disbanded. In restricted play, there's Dissent. There's also Time Trapper to deal with multiple figs with TAs.
Well yeah, it ignores them, but to me that's a good start on countering them for an action at a time.
In other words, Pulse Wave is a very good way to "counter" the pesky Batman, Defenders, or Alt Fant 4 TAs for one action (attack) at a time!!!
The original post was vague enough to suggest Pulse Wave as a way to counter a TA for one action at a time. I was thinking of the word "counter" as beat or surpass, rather than the game's definition of counter which is basically Outwit.
Still, no matter what, Pulse Wave counters all!!!

When you misuse terms like that, you cause unnecessary confusion for players who have legitimate questions and they take that confusion to the table which causes further problems. It's better for everyone that you use the correct terminology.
Ah, I see, in my mind I did use the correct terminology. If he had specificially said, "how can I Outwit Team Abilities?" Pulse Wave would not have been a correct answer.
However, he said counter, and in my mind, Pulse Wave counters TAs. I do believe that the OP was only looking for ways to get around TAs, and wasn't necessarily only looking for ways to Outwit (counter) them.
In general, if anyone has misused terms, it's WK itself, for using the term counter on cards like Fortitude, instead of using the actual game term, Outwit. But I see how I can be blamed for that...
In the meantime, I will use the terms as I see fit. In this case, I truly think that my advice was quite sound.

Outwit counters powers, yes.
However, Outwit is not the only way to counter powers in the game - the Ambush feat is another, and there may come other effects later that will allow you to counter things.
No, I definitely see all that, but again, we are truly not sure of the OPs actual intent of the question. He also may have been using the word counter to mean beat or surpass, rather than the WK definition (which includes Outwit).
In other words, the terminology is important, that I know, but the original question I think is what led to the terminology confusion. Again, in my mind, the question was "How can I beat these annoying TAs, any help?"
Pulse Wave is the simple answer to that question!

Well, another way to turn those powers off (rather than using something like Pulse Wave to overcome them), would be to Mind Control the Mystics figure, then use your free action to turn off the Team Ability.
See there's one way that wasn't even mentioned in all the previous posts, including mine! Now that there is a bit more info from hawkeye, the question (and answer) becomes a little clearer!

The term was indeed ambiguous!!! As I said, even in the official rules and game items, it's one more questionable use of terms. Kind of like that "ignore" on one page of the rule book, and "cancel" on the very next page.
Ah, it's no big deal though, nothing a little Unlimited Class Wrestling couldn't solve, I pick Kalibak as my wrestler in the under 200 points (including Feats) division!!!
You know, speaking of that, what would be awesome is if WK made an action pack with an official UCW ring included in it, kind of like the old WWF mini-fig rings they used to make. It could come with a new version of Thing (Wrasslin' Thing of course).

You don't use your free action to turn off the TA. Canceling powers is not an action. You can turn off the TA in addition to using whatever action you perform.
Still, that is NOT a way to COUNTER the TA. It is simply canceling the TA. There is a difference. For example, a wild card could copy a TA which has been canceled, but it could not copy one which has been countered.

The terms are NOT ambiguous. In this case the poster introduced some confusion by not using the correct terminology, but the terms themselves, when used correctly, have no ambiguity.
Your example is also incorrect. The section you site was a mistake and has been corrected in the E&C documents.
