If I play a theme team that heavily favors Stealth and I want to play Wasteland and ignore whatever my opponent plays and they have a theme team and ignore Wasteland do I still get the hindering bonuses from all the Wasteland?
I mean, Im still observing it so everything is now hindering FOR ME right? And if they ignore it for themselves, they can move freely thru it but not ignore the hindering for me right?
What do you do when one person observes a BFC and the other ignores it in this case?
Ok how about when I play Wasteland and they play Deep Shadows? I observe Wasteland and ignore Deep Shadows? So do I get the benefit of the Wasteland terrain AND keep my full range or do I have to observe it because my opponent does?
I believe wasteland turns walls (dark black lines) into hindering terrain, and elevated terrain (red lined) into grounded hindering,.... so when its your turn if you had L/C you can walk accross the entire map, if you stop where there use to be a wall you would get the bonus. but when your opponent goes he has walls so he can't see you bc of the blocking terrain, he can still use the elevated terrain to look at his characters but is limited to 6 squares due to deep shadows,...
the only thing about wasteland that I learn the hard way is blocking terrain (brown line) such as the tank is not destroyed or hindering,... :disappoin it remains blocking
When you ignore a Battlefield Condition, you treat it as though it was not played.
So, normally, when Wasteland is played, elevated terrain becomes grounded hindering terrain and walls are destroyed, causing adjacent squares to become hindering terrain.
Your opponent chooses to ignore Wasteland. When he draws line of fire and moves his characters, elevated terrain is still elevated terrain and walls are still walls.
Your choose to not ignore Wasteland. When you draw line of fire and move your characters, elevated terrain is grounded hindering terrain and walls are destroyed, causing adjacent squares to be hindering terrain.
When Deep Shadows is played, all clear terrain is considered hindering terrain for line of fire purposes and all ranges are reduced to 6 and cannot be increased above 6.
Since you didn't ignore Wasteland, you ignore Deep Shadows. For you, clear terrain is still clear terrain, your range is not reduced to 6 and you can modify it to be higher than 6.
Since your opponent ignored Wasteland, he cannot ignore Deep Shadows. For him, clear terrain is hindering terrain for line of fire purposes, his characters' ranges are reduced to 6 and they cannot be modified to more than 6.
