By SHIELD001 (Originally by C-dog) Theme #17: Colossus
Good thing I was not on my activation click…
Welcome to another edition of Competitive Keyword Theme Team Building, with SHIELD001. This week, we are going to deal with three Keywords that represent Colossus. It’s Mutant, Armor, and X-Men this week.
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
Theme Team Rules
A quick recap here. Keyword Theme Teams have all the characters on the force sharing a single common Keyword among the Keywords listed on their character cards. The force must consist of at least 3 or more characters with the same Keyword, and at least one character for each 100 points.
Theme Teams give you several perks:
1) You may have one use of Probability Control per game per every 3 Keyword characters you play (you must give a token to the figure using PC when doing so, and he can’t be part of the action).
2) You add +X (X = the number of Keyword people on your team) to your dice roll to choose map/go first.
3) You may ignore one Battle Field Condition during the game.
Enough talking -
Since this article is about competitive Keyword Theme Teams I will only be doing 300 point teams for the most part.
This team has some real fun with FBS and Drag. When you FBS Morph he goes into Plasticity which allows break away on a 2-6, so you can use drag easier. The idea is to drag the target closer to Colossus so he can Charge and clock the target with a heavy. Colossus has Inside Info and Monster Hunter just on the off chance he gets an attack boost. Cuckoo is there for PC and some X-healing.
C = Colossus
M = Morph
T = Target
X = clear
Colossus FBS Morph into target:
CXXXXXXXXXMT
Morph Drags target into Colossus Charge range:
CXXXXTMXXXXX
BFC suggestions:
Restricted: Resistance, Communication Breakdown,
Unrestricted: Disbanded, Bright Lights
Everyone has the X-Men TA so they can use Resistance to prevent Outwit. Com Breakdown goes on every FBS team to negate either the penalty to attack or damage. Bright Lights will insure you can use FBS since you do need line of sight to the target.
It should be fun to toss Spidey into the enemy and send him right into his 2 token incap SP, plus he also gains Shape Change for protection. Stingray is a good tie-up piece, but don't forget that he has range.
BFC suggestions: Restricted:Resistance, Communication Breakdown, Unrestricted:Cross Winds, Bright Lights
Team# 3 Mutant Restricted 299 Map Bonus: +3
PC: 1
(M+M)Colossus 158
(Armor Wars) Black King + protected 124
(Sinister) Multiple Man 17
I think Colossus FBSing Black King is probably the funniest way to get past that activation click . As long as they don't hit Black King too hard he will probably end up on one of his 18 defense clicks. You can always use protected to stop any big hits. Use Multiple Man to heal Colossus.
BFC suggestions:
Restricted:Resistance, Communication Breakdown, Malice Unrestricted:Cross Winds, Disbanded, Bright Lights
House of M Spidey's second click is great so FBS away. If you want you can use the E Multiple Man instead of X-23 to give the team some Perplex You can then give Spidey or Colossus Monster Hunter with the extra 3 points. Have Scarlet fly Colossus into Charge range after he tosses Spidey. If you want to give Spidey AP, Replace X-23 with R Multiple Man and give Spidey or Colossus Protected.
BFC suggestions:
Restricted: Resistance, Communication Breakdown, Malice Unrestricted:Warzone, Disbanded, Bright Lights
General tips/strategy/reasoning:
FBS is a fun power, don't forget you can also use it to "throw" objects 10 squares. So with a heavy, Colossus has a 10 range with 3 damage or Engergy Explosion if you throw the Fuel Tank! For some great tips on FBS check out this article
Well that’s it, thanks for reading. As always, please give me some feedback, any thoughts on how you’d make the teams better, specific examples would be great!
Next week will be Psychic
if you have an idea for a team you can PM it to me and I will probably add it to the article.
You just have to follow this format:
•They must be legal Keyword Theme teams for the Keyword(s) I have picked (next weeks is be Psychic ). So all figs on the team must share a Keyword.
•The team must be 300 points or less.
•You must also tell me how you would use the team and what BFCs you would use with the team.
•Deadline is 12/27/07 before 3:00 pm (next thursday).
I will of course give you credit and rep you as well as post a link where others can rep you. Just
Hope you enjoyed reading, see you next week.
And
Have a Happy and Safe Holiday

I've been itching to try one of the following teams that feature big steely Pete.
Keyword Mutant
M&M Colossus 158
AW Psylocke R 45
DR Storm V 40
DR Cyclops V 40
Sin Multiple Man R 17
Total 300
This is a ranged focused team with Storm, Cyclops & Colossus able to Shoot/TK up to 8 squares away. Psylocke is there to boost AV & Damage thanks to the Shield TA, while Multiple Man serves as a healing battery. If you're afraid of missing your attack rolls, you can swap Cyclops out for SR Scarlet Witch - you lose some oomph in the ranged attack department - but pick up another taxi with PC/Barrier, and 5 extra points to spend on Unstoppable, Lucky Break, or Streak of luck for Colossus.
Another fun team with the Mutant Keyword is:
M&M Colossus 158
AW Wolverine U 60
Sin Multiple Man E 32
M&M Cyclops (FC) 50
Total 300
This team has a decent balance of ranged attackers with CLose combat bruisers. Wolverine can boost Cyke's damage with his Shield TA, while Madrox Perplexes up AVs. The only thing lacking is taxis - but you can always play a Poor Teamwork to level the playing field.
coming soon : nu52 Hercules

Read my Heroclix articles
in your spiderman team I would lose the 4th mutant alltogether and get some mroe feats going, spider with protected stunning blow and takedown is a real monster, especially if you know the dial and can use your protected to get hit onto the 18+cr click
also, a really strong mutant for these types of teams is Captain Mako from the city of villans le's. Not well known and a real bruiser for 52 points.

i dont think spiderman can use stunning blow because he doesnt have incap. he can "use" incap.

glutton is talking about the Spidey from Armor Wars, specifically, the House of M Spidey. The one you are referring to is the Spidey from Avengers. Otherwise, you would be correct as to Spidey not having Incap.
Nice team formats, BTW! It's always nice to see fun AND competitive theme team builds. Though, I believe there will always be more fun in a themed team versus a strictly built competitive team.
Use the Shield Disruptor with Spiderman. He has superstrength on the first click and when he is FBS he will drop the Disruptor and all damage reducing defenses will be dropped as well.

I would personally use the new Healing object E-somthing vine
