So a few very good friends of mine gave me Fin Fang Foom for a christmas present. I know, it's awesome(Of course, they're going to get a chance to play with him as well)
So, since I'm going to get first shot at playing him; what are the best strategies for winning with FFF?
And since I'm also going to have to play against him; What are the best ways to beat FFF?
He is definitely a monster in all respects. I've read in the rules that he can push even when he has two action tokens, and he still won't take pushing damage, this is awesome. So the first strategy is never clear with foom.
His energy explosion looks pretty nasty when he's playing full dials aswell.
Could someone clear up his multiattack for me? It seems like he can charge/attack then make another action. Or he could EE twice, both with two targets. The only downfall is that his damage is reduced by one.
Obviously a TK pulsewave will work against him. and it seems like BCF and Flurry should do some good aswell.
Also, he can be outwitted, which is bad. So protect against that.
If the pro's have some advice i would love to hear it. Thanks.
I still have not played Foom as part of a force. I've played the scenario with others and it was fun. My advise for beating him in the scenario is really rather generic, but pack high AV and make sure you can hit him for big damage! When played as a scenario, Foom has the powers cosmic Ta.
That was my other question: Is the Foom scenario fun to play?
and how many points is good, 600, 900, 1200?
i'm leaning to 1200.
I think that the scenario is a blast to play, at any point cost. It can be a bit of a task to explain all of the rules away to your pals, so I would recommend playing a couple of solo games to really get a grasp on his special rules. When you play as a group, I think it's easier to jump right in and play. I'll explain Fooms' powers and abilities first (i.e. he ignores EW,FB,etc...). The whole attack setup is a bit easier to understand once you actually see it, so I'll wait until someone hits Foom to explain what happens when he retaliates.
I like the scenario because it allows most everyone to make attack rolls on Foom, and for Foom. Then no one says stuff like "well it's not fair, you played Foom against me, so of course I lost".
