I haven't listened to it yet but I own it. I'm busy adding "Are You Passionate" to my iTunes library because I realised the packaging makes it to easy to scratch up. This is time consuming because I have to redo the songs that are glitchy several times to clear the glitches.
By the way, I'm very close to getting everything I want to download to CD and send you on my iTunes. I just need to find some cases to package them in so they don't get scratched up. Right now I'm looking at a probable 4 CDs. I'm going to send you some jazz fusion among other things. Then I have to get my daughter to help me download them to CD just to be on the safe side.
P.S. I have "Living With War" but I haven't listened to it enough to safely compare it with "Harvest". I know it's good though.
For the record my favorite Neil Young songs are these:
Like a Hurricane
Country Girl
Cowgirl in the Sand
Down by the River
Cinnamon Girl
After the Gold Rush
The Loner
Cortez The killer
P.P.S. Love the fact that we have a Neil Young Thread.

I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
finally listened to it and added it to my iTunes library. Some good stuff. Had a bear of a time adding Ordinary People to my iTunes without any glitches but I finally pulled it off. Really liked Dirty Old Man. Vaguely descriptive of me sometimes.
Overall though Harvest is the superior effort.
I see this attracted about as much attention as my Grateful Dead thread did. Too bad T'Chaka left the Realms.

Maybe they don't know what they are missing.
Then again maybe they do know what they are missing.....
The problem for Neil Young and other rockers his age, is people assume he doesn't have the chops anymore. This is soon going to be a problem for Tom Petty. After a certain amount of time, people don't care if you have anything new. Remember the Simpson's episode with BTO where Homer rushes them to the chorus? Homer was the avatar of the general public.
Simpson's comedy equals truth.

What I like about Neil Young is his strong sense of self. He does what he wants on his own terms. I first heard him because my stepbrother bought his album "After the Gold Rush". His voice is amazing. I didn't know what to make of that voice. It was so different then what I was used to. I learned a lot from Neil Young.

Wouldn't you love to see a horror movie based around The Loner?
Aren't all horror movies based on that song? Michael Meyers and Jason Voorhees were both loners weren't they? Freddy Krueger definitely was. The Frankenstein monster was a loner who wasn't happy about it. King Kong was a loner who was secure in it.

I never saw Frankenstein's Monster watching someone from the other end of a subway train.
That's because there weren't any subways in his day. He would've if he could have.

In Walk Hard they compare great rockstars of yesteryear to personalities in the Bible. Neil Young was the Prophet Iseah. They hit that one right on the big red clown nose
Just finished listening to Journey Through the Past Soundtrack sent to me by AlienFlanders. I don't know how he knew I didn't have that.
Good stuff, but I had to load the information in myself. I need the name of the fifteen minute plus song at the tale end. It appears to be an extended session of Words.

I've been listening to my old tape of "Where the Buffalos Roam" soundtrack? (The Hunter S. Thompson movie before Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas starring Bill Murray as Hunter and Peter Boyle as Dr. Gonzo). It's really just a tripped-out version of Home on the Range broken up by some other songs and a few audio clips from the movie. It is still one of the best bargin bin purchase I've made.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

I'd like to get that on CD. I actually saw that movie when it came out. Don't remember it well though.
