An easy 10 for me, as this is my all-time favorite movie! Pretty good story, zombies everywhere, gore, kooky music, and great special effects for it's time (and even pretty good by today's standards) make this one of the all-time greatest horror movies.
Two in the Precision Strike.
One in the Poison.
"Nobody dreams of being a pirate." - Howard Stern
I liked this movie, I really did (and for a long time it was the goriest film Id ever seen) but I didnt love it (though I do ackowledge its a classic, and I liked it better than most films of its genre). I think I liked this one better than Night, and probably on the same level as Day overall (I think even the first Return Of The Living Dead I enjoyed more, though maybe because that had more of an 80s feel). I definately liked this movie and would recommend it to Anyone who loves the horror field, but its just not at the Top end of movies of this genre for me.
Dawn Of The Dead - 8.50 / 10

I loved what Romero did with his zombie movies - it wasn't so much about the subject, but the style. The zombies have become the mindless masses entrapped in the mall by material possession. As the film progresses and the protagonists lose their grip on society - the mall becomes more and more a character that imposes imprisonment.
I like this movie a lot, as far as zombie movies go, Night of the Living Dead, and Shaun of the Dead are the only ones to rival this film.
It's not the greatest film, though, and there are elements of cheese to it (it's a fricken zombie movie, what do you expect?).
8.7 out of ten.
Eh . . .
I have no sekrets, I just am.

I love this film, it is the bar by which all other zombie films are measured. It is one of those fantastic films that are actually better because of their faults; the make-up and acting may be dated but they make it feel somehow more real and violent than current effects could.
This is an imaginative, original film that blew me away as a kid and still impresses me today.
C'Mon, it's the pinnacle of the Romero movies (although "Diary of..." looks very promising). Amazing social commentary mixed with great characters and amazing zombie scenes. One of my favourite movies.

Diary of the Dead is great but the social commentary doesn't quite bite as deep as Dawn. Great entertainment wise though and way better than the pointless, non-mallcentric, Dawn remake on both levels. Zack just blows as a director and is all about the special FX in his movies. Also better than Land of the Dead.
The original Dawn is a 9 out of 10 due to the cheese. Argento's Zombi version of this cleans up the worst so it gets a 9.5.
I appreciate and enjoy the original Dawn. The saturation of the colors looks great and reminds me heavily of Suspiria. The make-up is pretty good for the time and the special effects are a blast (Savini!).
However, I think the movie drags at times. Some parts are pretty slow and seem like they could be cut down. It's definitely a classic, and is required viewing by most, but I prefer Night and Day.
