Our next film open for discussion, and ultimately an Overall RATING by you all:
GOLDFINGER
Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, classic film or overhyped trash, and DONT FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.
Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (Jaws 4:The Revenge) to 10 (Jaws), and thats it. Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.

HCR Rates The Movies Is Back! Come and share your thoughts on a TON of films, new and old! Our latest movie - BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE
I have seen all of the Bonds (but the last two) but I really don't love any of them other than On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which isn't surprising as I am really not a fan of action films in general.
That said Goldfinger is one of the better films with one of the most memorable villains, and the the best theme song of the series. So I will give it a solid 7 out of 10
After From Russia With Love, it's Connery's best Bond film. Plus, who couldn't love a femme fatale named ##### Galore (who was a lesbian before Bond had his way with her....sigh, he has all the fun).
I give it an 9/10
Good acting, great villains (come on, Mike Myers even spoofed Oddjob with his Korean who threw a shoe), they play golf, and Switzerland (which is one of the most beautiful countries in the whole world).
It also has that most famous of all Bond lines (after his name).
'Do you expect me to talk?' - Bond
'No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die.' - Goldfinger
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Viewed by many as the most iconic Bond film it's funny when you watch it just how ineffective Bond is. ##### saves him from Goldfinger's trap, the Americans save him at Fort Knox and he doesn't even take out OddJob on his own. Compared to "Uber' Bond of the later films, this guy's the worst Secret Agent ever.
That said its still a fun film, much campier when you view it as an adult than I'd ever have remembered.
Oh, you guys are horrible! At one time I owned every single Bond movie on VHS. I sold my VHS collection and am now building up the DVD version (had briefly paused to see if I want to go blu-ray and when that's going to hit).
At any rate, I do think that Goldfinger isone of the more memorable bond films, but I have to give it a 8/10 in the greater movie context. There are just better all-around movies than that.
Unfortunately I have never seen this film, so I cant rate it......and I guess Im not alone here on HCR.
Philistine! get thee to a rental store and remedy this situation poste haste!
now!
chop chop!
"I must be in heaven" is his reply when Ms. Galore tells him her name.
Great opening sequence, a fantastic movie even though I like From Russia with Love better of Connery's BOnd flicks and Domino was my favorite Bond chick from Thunderball.
easily a 9.5
Yes, but you're a surrealist! I'm a normal guy!
Gil Zoo Crew or bust!
I'm not a bond guy by any means but I have seen all the films. Goldfinger I would say would rank 3 on my list. Actually it's tied with "The Man with the Golden Gun". This is the most iconic bond film, practically any pop culture reference to Bond is about this movie. It's an enjoyable watch and perhaps should be the movie to recommend to someone who wants to get into the franchise.
