HCR Rates The Movies #195: STAR TREK IV: THE......
So, our next film, Classic or Crud, Hit or Miss, what say you ALL?
Our next film open for discussion, and ultimately an Overall RATING by you all:
STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME
Let the discussions flow. Likes, dislikes, classic film or overhyped trash, and DONT FORGET to place an Overall Rating when youre done.
Its easy, just give a Rating from 1 (Jaws 4:The Revenge) to 10 (Jaws), and thats it. Course I'd love to have you all give reasons as to why you feel it deserves this Overall Rating, and more than encourage discussions with us all about them.
So, what say you all?
Next Film: ??????

HCR Rates The Movies Is Back! Come and share your thoughts on a TON of films, new and old! Our latest movie - BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE
Personally, I think The Voyage Home helps support the idea that even numbered Trek films dont stink. This to me was more enjoyable and overall better than Search For Spock, which was much worse than Wrath Of Khan. This was probably the most fun and family friendly of the Trek films, one that even a novic sci fi fan could go in and have a blast (with the possible exception of being the final part of Treks 2 - 4, which did fit together). A trip back to the 80s with Kirk and crew made for some very fun (and funny) situations, yet they created a world class threat that the crew of the Enterprise......er....Bird Of Prey, I should say.....needed to prevent (not destroy) all the same. Probably my 3rd favorite of the original Trek films, fitting nicely between WoK and SfS, so I think Ill rate it as such here.
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - 8 / 10

Its fun. It works. But it can only barely be considered a Star Trek movie can it? I mean it has the characters, but its still not much more than a fish out of water comedy.
That being said, it is a fun movie and worth watching as part of the Trek "trilogy" of Kahn, Search, & Voyage.

I have never been a fan of Star Trek but I found all of the movies up t nemesis at a Garage sale at $5 for the whole whack, so I figured what the heck. I thought that other than the original this was the worst of the bunch. I hate it when the fantastic collides with reality, I find it really depressing, almost as depressing as all of the lame fish out of water (no pun intended) jokes. Star Trek as a whole really isn't my thing but this movie in particular did nothing for me.
