Destroying objects, Barrier questions

Three questions:
1. Can a character use Barrier to place Barrier tokens in WATER?
2. Can a character target and destroy hindering terrain....?
3. When a character destroys an object, the object turns into hindering terrain, right...?

No. Barrier tokens can only be placed in clear terrain.

No.

Yes. It's replaced with a debris token.
