Yet another duo with incompatible powers for it. DC really dropped the ball on these duos and JLA's earthbound giants & Transporters. I'm shocked no giants in this set have Earthbound also.
Funny how Hawk and Dove together's dial is shorter than Vet Dove & exp/Vet Hawk from Hypertime.
I'm honestly not quite sure what to think of this figure just yet. They seem front loaded and like they'd go down easy, being somewhat glass jawed, but maybe super senses would come through. The 88 point pricetag is a hair shy of being so overcosted that I banish these guys from play consideration entirely.
they're not too bad. i actually used them to good effect on more than one occasion. even though they have only 6 clicks, their defense numbers and powers make them hard to put down and with maneuver, they can make a nasty super strength duo attack. :D
The dial is just overpriced and underdone. Both ht Hawk and ht Dove are more accurate to start and can dish out more damage. Plus, the duo attack doesn't work with charge or cce so you'll only use it on clix 3 and 4 and only if you aren't charging. Thats a lot of points to shell out for a power you'll never use.
Accuracywise, if you get rid of Dove and painted the ring blue, you'd have a pretty accurate E Hawk. But this isn't just Hawk. Its Hawk AND Dove, which makes it pretty inaccurate.
Dunno how so many people can complain about a duo under 90 pts! They have GREAT defense all the way down the line, duo attack, tons of CCE, charge and super strength. I fielded them and had great success. You can't compare these guys to HT anything, because HT IS RETIRED!

THANK YOU! Retired and good riddance to bad rubbish! How many people were extactic to see Lockjaw (affectionatly know as the "dog") retired? I KNOW I WAS!!!! So, yeah give me new over old (and busted) any day. I allways thought that HT Hawk looked like he was doing the Ric Flair strut! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Yes, the fig has incombatible powers, yes, the fig has a rather short dial. But it IS a DUO under 100 pts. and the mid dial Invuln catches most unprepared.
Cool sculpt, but Hypertime REV Hawk and E Dove are more effective as separate figures, even if they cost significantly more to field. The Duo ability is neutered with a base damage of 2 and no way to use CCE on either attack, except for using Lunge with a heavy object for a big opening attack (5), and a weak follow-up (1). As a separate entity, Dove can taxi Hawk away to safety, even when using Lunge.
Compare this duo with HT Hawk's AV progression from an opening 12 to 10, and Dove's two 10s. Bump up the starting attack and damage values, and this duo of H&D would be more appealing, if only slightly.
I think what may be missed by folks posting on H & D is the fact that, while the powers are "incompatible", that is no accident: CCE is called "Hawk, No!" which is pretty indicative that it represents Hawk going off on some opponent by himself. I have no trouble believing that Dove is pulling his punches, which gives the Duo's -1 damage penalty some grain of truth. That being said, it limits the playability of this piece to be so restrained in the damage department. I would have liked to see a 10 up front to show that these guys know what they're doing and aren't just there to boast nice defenses. Incidentally, the defenses are the key to getting the most out of them: 18 Senses is a decent cover, and Toughness helps make sure you don't sail through the Invulnerability, which is there to slow your opponent's progress through his short dial. Not the best Duo ever, but can be worked to good effect.

Crow, I think you miss that even if it isn't an accident, we're still PAYING for the incompatible powers, which makes the figure too expensive for what it does. Hence the complaint about incompatible powers...

Ummm...im not seeing incompatible powers. What I see is charge with super strength dealing four damage. Im seeing leap climb to get them in place. Im seeing a perplexed potential of 9 damage with duo attack. Im seeing a figure that's not afraid of outwit because it always has a back up power to do incredible damage.no matter what gets outwitted, they still have a way of damaging through reducers. Im seeing super senses and toughness. Mid dial invulnerability, move and attack.....im seeing all this for less than 90 points.
Now let's compare all these qualities with the one bit of incompatibility. Charge can't be used with close combat expert....Hmmm....yup.....I think the good points weigh out the bad. I've seen figures twice as much do less.....this is a great duo. A brawler/tie up with duo attack and range.....for 88 points? Im not seeing the risk here!
