Ah, so this sculpt is where all the effort that wasn't put into Batwoman and Batman Ally Robin went! If only everybody in the set could look so awesome.
For actual playability, not so awesome but not too shabby either. He's a really big investment of points for no top dial damage reduction, which you REALLY want on a Mystic figure as you want your opponent to have to hit them more times to take them down; not to just take them down with a 1-2 punch/blast/etc.
There is a fair amount to like here. 4 clicks of charge, 3 clicks double target incap, 2 clicks double target EE, 3 clicks perplex, mystics and that he's a walking broken hydrant (hold it in, guy!)
To rock out hard he needs to be used by a much more experienced player or he'll likely be a waste of a significant amount of points as a great deal of his powers, while good, need to be met halfway (charge without top dial damage reducers, a short range, late dial flurry, etc).
he is VERY playable in the right hands, im seeing LMD, or armor piercing in his near future. and for some reason people think submerged when they see his power, BUT, it creates water AROUND him, submerged says when this character OCCUPIES water terrain..... yet again the wording kills me :(

Ah, but it does create water in the square he's in. His special states that clear grounded terrain 3 or fewer (emphisis on the fewer) squares from him is water terrain. Since the square he's in in fewer then 3 from him, it counts as being water terrain, as long as it's clear. This was confermed on the old Wizkids forums, a while back, so it is 100% ok to slap Submerged on him and have it work.
Great Fig, His Perplex, Barrier, and Duel Target Incap bring much needed support to Atlantis teams. Of course I am ignoring the 800lb Gorilla that is his special power. I don't need to sell you on this, its a must play for Atlantis teams, he works well with Attuma as the special power can position the Quakes more effectively.
Love this scuplt and team him with the multiple stingrays you probably have laying around from the COG events, T-bolt them to mystics and add Submerged and/or AP and goto work.
If points allow then add in the JL Aquaman with the perplex all figures he has lof to and you are in business.

gears 102 - You are right! I didn't catch that and neither did my cousin. He took a beating. He won't be happy to find out. :) Luckily it was a friendly game. Still, Tempest with submerged is nasty. I'd still play this team. They were tough.
I love to pair him up with frog of thunder and watch the abuse. It's funy to see the frusteration while los is blocked to throg and tempest because of the great sp's. These guys work wonders together. His perplex is a nice bonus also.
The symbol indicates ONLY that it has to be a swimmer. Transporter or not does not matter. Just as the shield symbol for shellhead clearly, and ONLY indicates your DEFENSE,hence the shield with the +2 is increased by 2 when double tokend. As such, the pre request is only a dmg reducer...if you have indomitable u can still use it, contrary to popular belief as is the case with submerged on bd. Aquaman..

Are you sure about this? When I played Shellhead on my Indomitable character, I was ruled it only applied to now Indomitable characters. I disagreed with it, but went a long with the ruling. Do you have a link to anything that clears this up?
