Lets talk about Mind Control and the PAC. I played a game where an opponent mc'ed my Doomsday. After he moved him adjacent to his pog he 'opted' to turn off his Invun. (???) Ok, I balked, stating that Invun is not optional. The judge ruled he CAN turn off that power!! WTF, have I been playing wrong al this time?? I always thought that it had to say 'optional' on the card to turn off the power. Help!

Don't look at old PAC becuase they have changed what powers are optional over the years, but you are correct that the current one will have an accurate list of '(optional)' powers. Does anyone have time to list them here? for those that don't know where to find the info themselves?
'The game used to be built around many fundamental rules. But there are a number of figures that fly in the face of those rules. Their powers are too all encompassing, and too cheap.' -MegaLotusMan
I use the Legion PAC, that's still current, right??

You sort of got hosed. Yes, Invulnerability is optional. After mind contolling your Doomsday, he could turn off your defense power, or any other. Most powers and Team Abilities are optional unless they say otherwise. However, turning off a power counts as a free action, and you only get to use a mind controlled character for one action, free or not. So after moving Doomsday, he lost control of the character and could no longer make any more actions. If he'd left Doomsday where he was but turned off the power, it would have been perfectly legal.
As for the Legion PAC... yeah, more or less. There have been a lot of rules changes since that came out - traits, no soaring, etc, that are reflected in the rules book, but the card is still pretty current. Look in the ruls book to see about optional powers.
as soon as doomsday returned as a friendly piece to you, all changes done by your opponet are now subject to you and not him, so let him attack and you will use invunerability as it is on when he is friendly to you!

It is, yes, until the Fanastic Four starter set is released (next month, I believe).

- any Special Power, unless the text of the SP itself (or an errata) says it's isn't optional.
Which means that all the following powers cannot be canceled:
- Earthbound

- Toughness
- Energy Shield/Deflection
- Impervious
- Invulnerability
- Battle Fury
- Shape Change.
On the LOSH PAC, Invulnerability is not listed as an optional power. Hence, you cannot turn it off. Also, turning off a power isn't a "free action". Instead, according to the LOSH, at the start of any other action (including the action you give to a mind-controlled character) you can choose to cancel a power until the end of the turn.

No, it isn't, per the current rules.

Except that cancelling a power isn't a free action, and wouldn't count as the free action granted by Mind Control.

This isn't true either. If you Mind Control Doomsday, and cancel one of his power, the power will remain cancelled until the end of your turn, as per the standard optional powers rules.
However, if your opponent were to cancel any power possessed by Doomsday before the Mind Control, as soon as Doomsday is mind controled, all his powers would return.

I don't think cancelled powers return after Mind Control; instead, cancelled powers return right after the Mind Controller successfully hits them. Otherwise, cancelled powers cannot be "uncancelled" by anyone, even after a change in control. So, if a player successfully uses Mind Control against a character, they can cancel their optional powers before giving them an action and those powers remain cancelled until the end of the turn.
Feel free to post a link to a ruling that says otherwise, but as far as I can tell this is the way things are according to the rules.
